The last two drafts have pumped out a ton of very good point guards and finally after a good 5 year drought the NBA has tons of new talent at the position. 2005 draft - Chris Paul, Raymond Felton, Deron Williams, Jarrett Jack, Monta Ellis 2006 draft - Marcus Williams, Rajon Rondo, Randy Foye, Sergio Rodriquez, Kyle Lowry, Jordan Farmar I'm glad to see all these PG's coming up the ranks. Other than Foye this years class has looked pretty good. None of these guys have starting spots but will soon have them. I would also like to point out that Sergio Rodriquez had 8 assists in his first 12 or so minutes the other night.

Man, I have been realizing this as well. There are ALOT of good PG's in the league and more and more have been coming in to the league as of late. Because of this, guys like Kirk Hinrich are having to play at the 2 guard spot. I think its great for the game personally...

I think youve got to mention Jose Calderon with the way he's been playing lately. He has been amazing scoring wise. His 18 footer is now money, and he is great at slashing for a layup. He's shooting 57%, and scoring 8.5 ppg off the bench for us.

The only college PG I would call "up-and-comming" in the NBA is Derrick Rose, and I like Sean Singletary. But elite PG's in the NBA won't be around for another 2-3 years. This years draft will be all big men and wings. Damn good ones too.

His scoring has been unbelievable. If he can progress the way he has this season, he will not be a career backup. He's arguably doing as good a job as TJ Ford.

He's a good player, he's a good playmaker, an excellent ballhandler, and he can hit open shots. But he is not going to be a starter in the NBA, IMO. A good backup PG, like Bobby Jackson. Obviously, he and B-Jax are completely different players, but that caliber of a player. Not really a starter, but productive off the bench.

Dude, he is shooting 57%. How many guards do that? He is money from eighteen, he can drive it, he is a good ball handler, passer. He's in his 2nd season in the NBA, and doing very well right now. How can you automatically assume that he'll be a career backup?

I'll admit it. I wasn't a Deron Williams believer until this season and in reality, I thought Williams was going to turn out to be a bust. Deron is playing better than any rookie from last season and is leading the Utah Jazz to the best record in the league. Honestly, do you think Deron will keep up the pace or will he slow down as the season progresses? The reason I didn't believe in Deron was because of his weight and I didn't think he had the right body or quickness to be effective at the point guard position. However, I was wrong, and if he continues to play like this he will be the next Andre Miller in his prime.

I think Williams will slow down a bit, but not much. But I do love watching him play, he has some killer instincts like I have never seen a Jazz player have before.

Shaun Livingston will be very solid too once he gets rid of the injury bug he has had since he entered the NBA.

This guy has outstanding vision on him, can run the floor very well, and is a huge matchup problem at 6'7. I have seen a couple of times where he has come down court and tried to dump the ball into Brand, but couldn't because his guy just fell way off of him right in front of Brand.

Jarrett Jack is palying very well for the Blazers. I think his defense will make him on of those second rounders that end up becoming someone in the NBA. Williams is a very smart player, and he is becoming a leader for the Jazz. I was very impressed with him in his game against the Pistons, he makes good desicions with the ball, and was very calm in the clutch, and those are two things that spell out a future of a great point guard.

First of all, it's WAY too early to tell if the 06' class will have any quality or really good point guards...Could say the same about the '05 class as well, but there's at least a season of playing for those guys.

Sergio Rodriguez has played well lately too, and he's way ahead of schedule, and Daniel Gibson has a solid future. This class might not produce any All-Star PG's, but good ones.

Both Marcus Williams and Rajon Rondo show great promise. Williams will be one of the best playmakers in the league in a few years, and Rondo is more than solid all-around.
