http://bleacherreport.com/tb/ddxnq?...m=newsletter&utm_campaign=los-angeles-dodgers I think the Yanx would be fools to think about acquiring the inconsistent, often disabled list player. Kemp is but a shell of the once triple crown threat he used to be. Tho' only 29 years old, and making a ton of money, he's a huge risk, the way he's played (or has failed to play) these last two years. More off than on..... The most Note-worthy paragraph in this article hits the bullseye: "Kemp is still trying to regain his power and first-step quickness, and the remaining $107 million on his contract from 2015 to ’19 would make him something of a risk for any team that acquired him." Last thing the Yanx need is a injury prone player; with an anemic bat. With Overall streaky production at best. Kemp used to be considered amongst the MLB elite of CF'ers, and has made a mockery of his game or lack thereof...!!! Just say NO....TrashMan.....!!! Beware of Hanley Ramirez Free Agency during this off season too. Ramirez has looked more horrible than Spike Owen.....If Cashman tenders Hanley an offer he's a fool, well he's already a fool. Ramirez is in the same boat as Kemp, both injury prone, both seem like the game has passed them up, only shells of their past selves....!!!
Whatever he once had is gone IMO, and I'm not so sure he'll ever get it back. Just to much of a risk.
My exact sentiments.....any team taking a chance on Kemp, is dancing with club footed heavy booted danger....! Kemp is a done as a Player....stick a fork in him already...... Even if he were to make some kinda' comeback to form of old tho' that too is not saying much. He had 1 great year in 2011, 39 HR's, .324 B'AVG., 126 RBI's, 40 SB's, played in 161 games, 162 Games in 2010, 159 and 155 games in 09 and 08 respectively. Only played in 106 games in 012, 73 in 013, 88 so far this year, and only hitting .265, a bad year by his own standards, 8 HR's and 35 RBI's. 2 Gold Gloves, but insists on playing CF'er even tho' he's been playing LF in Crawford's absence. He doesn't even play CF defensively at the same caliber of past performance either. thus the Yanx already have a great CF'er, a good LF'er and Kemp I doubt could play his way out of a box in RF.... Overall, he's way to high a risk, too much maintenance, over paid, and he's his biggest fan. Whatever spark he had appears to be gone. The epitome of a player who landed a big contract, and recedes back into his shell, of slacka-daisial play....!!! http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/k/kempma01.shtml
you'd have to get him for almost nothing with LA taking most of the contract as well and at that rate they have no motivation to deal him
I wouldn't take him if the Bums paid his entire salary for the duration of his contract. Just saying....stick a fork in him...!
