Perform basic car maintenance (oil change, filters, plugs, change a tire, etc.)
Know how to use power tools and be able to fix minor problems with your home (plumbing, electrical, framing, roofing, etc.)
How to handle a gun, focusing on weapon safety.
Know how to hunt and fish for your region of the country. At least a little.
Learn to drive on a manual transmission. There will always be one time in your life where you will require this basic skill.
Learn how to cook at least a dozen basic meals. You'll save money as a bachelor and will impress a date if you can cook for him/her
Learn how to handle alcohol. Don't be a messy drunk. If you can learn to mix a proper drink, even better.
Become at least a bogie golfer. If you shoot high 80s/low 90s, you will never embarrass yourself. Best to learn young.
Learn basic manners, especially old-fashioned ones. You don't have to apply them so rigorously, but there's something impressive about being effortlessly polite.

We outsource too many things these days. We lack basic life skills.
