    Summary:
    Bachmann said gays want to prey on children.
    The demand to repeal age of consent laws was initially raised in the gay movement to protect teens from abuse. Because we are not child abusers we never dreamed it would be taken to mean children.
    When others claimed it meant sex with children it was withdrawn.
    Denny tried to claim it is still a demand in the LGBT community by citing antigay sites* quoting 1972 positions. Because you can't find anything since 1972.
    Positions taken 40 years ago can change.
    I don't know what Pelosi said or what the context was.
    You can take an unflattering photo of anyone.

    *Hint: Any site that begins with "the homosexual agenda is" and is not a comedy site is an antigay site. No one either in the movement or who supports equality ever begins with "the homosexual agenda". It's like "there is one thing you can say about the Negro".

    She said the elimination of age of consent laws and statutory rape laws would allow ADULTS (she didn't say gays) to prey on children.

    Oh Denny, way to eliminate everything that she said before. She was clearly talking about the gay community. She did say adults in that one part but she was slamming and saying ridiculous things about the gay community.

    I didn't say you were wrong. I said Denny was wrong that you were wrong. He implied you were wrong when he said that Bachmann hadn't said what you had said in the thread title, which he said to imply that Crandc was wrong to disagree with your title.

    What the hell are you talking about? Michele Bachmann is the one with the agenda. You make it sound like she is some innocent victim who has been terribly misquoted. She's not. You can try and spin it anyway you want be she in that interview was clearly attacking the gay community.

    She did not say "gays want to get rid of age of consent laws so gays can prey on children."

    Whoever says she said that either didn't listen to her in her own words or is deliberately (with an agenda) misrepresenting what she actually said.

    So because Crandc got one word wrong in what she posted you're claiming that in your own words, "is deliberately (with an agenda) misrepresenting what she actually said."

    Saying gays instead of adults is hardly a deliberate misrepresentation of what Bachmann said. If suddenly adults were allowed to start fucking kids she is very clearly laying the blame for it at the feet of the gay community. Not the adult community (whatever the hell that would be.)

    Again, I would in all of this that it is Bachmann with the agenda, not Crandc.

    I already made the point. The thread title is correct. What other people are saying she said simply is not.

    I already said she deserves 2 pinochios out of 4 on the truth scale for saying that (other than NAMBLA) the gay agenda is to eliminate age of consent laws. They once did.

    After all that, Bachmann insisted that she was communicating a message of love for gay people and that conservatives must show the nation that God “is so much more powerful than the evil we see unleashed upon the world today.”

    “Our message is to spread goodness and joy and wholeness and healing, and we do that through a loving God with a message that frees people, it doesn’t enslave people, we shouldn’t fear giving out this very good word,” Bachmann said. “It takes these concepts for the purpose of bringing liberty, joy, healing, wholeness and a fresh way of thinking for people’s lives.”

    (not my thing, but she's entitled to believe it)
