As the bone breaks like that, it would also do tissue damage. Imagine snapping a chicken leg in two. Nasty injury. They should plug up that gap underneath or something.

When he was talking on Sportscenter last night, I got the impression that he didn't want to be "that guy who broke his leg" anymore, and he didn't feel like he could shake that reputation while still playing at Louisville.

I heard his interview on ESPN last night. He said he transferred because one of the hardest parts of his comeback was the mental part of being known as that guy who had that awful leg injury. So he went to another school to get away from all that.

Don't know if there is something more to it, but that is what he told reporters on ESPN. Also said he is 110% physically after his injury.

He will probably be back after the All-Star break but his biggest challenge will be recovering mentally.

Is this known? Kevin Ware tried to come back early, and was a shell of himself. That injury is brutal. It's not like you just put it in an aircast and start running and jumping in a few months.

I'm just assuming because the All-Star break is in like 7 1/2 months.

There is zero point in trying to play this season. Aside from the physical, and the need to be 100% recovered (if that's even possible), imagine the psychological impact of something like this. No reason not to take a full year or more.

I don't see why the Pacers would want to risk having him come back early. They may not even make the playoffs, or if they do, will be a low seed without having George for the first 55 games.

I really feel for Paul George after seeing it all come down live. He's a guy I actually like a lot as a player and off court. He'll battle through this and fortunately has the support of Indy. He'll be back but he might be Antonio McDyess-like

Well, his dad said he is done if I read it correctly on the bottomline of ESPN.

Looks like the Knicks will be a playoff team now.

It would appear that it does neither the Pacers nor George any good for him to rush back to play next year. He's guaranteed $90m dollars over the next five seasons, and the first possible amnesty would be after the 2017 season when the CBA is negotiated again. George has no reason to rush back, and the Pacers will have to pay George for at least 3 years before the end of the 2017 season, so they may as well let him fully heal and hope he plays up to the max in 2015-16.

Wow! The Pacers have now lost George AND Stevenson. Once they traded Granger last season, they started their slide. I know it's the east, but will they even win 40 games next season?

The Indy plan: tank, get a high draft pick hopefully #1, and then PG comes back the year after.

Reminds me of the Spurs plan. And they've been riding the wave ever since.

It's like what happened to us. We lose Roy and GO and our cupboard is bare except for LA. The difference, of course, is that LA blossomed and Hibbert is unlikely to do the same.

Bottom line, that team needs a Lillard.

Lance is a stud on the court. Zombie bobcats made best free agent signing after Cleveland.

If the pacers had been able to keep Lance that team would still have a chance in the weak east. Basically zero hope now
