D. Phelps 5-5 3.89 ERA vs. C. Bucholz 5-7 5.87 ERA Gardner Jeter Ellsbury Teixeira Beltran McCann Headley Drew Prado GO YANKEES!
I wonder if Totus is at this game? He can close out, do long spell relief, or replace Phelps last minute, if so.....!
To get back into the race we need to string some wins together. Hopefully yesterday was the start of AT LEAST 5 in a row.
Make's me appreciate a team running wild, like last years Bums- 42 - 8 record. Not expecting those kinda' miracles out of any team. But a nice long win streak would be nice.......I know, dream on.....anything can happen in this great game. glad to see Cliff Lee is off the market, sounds like he may be done for the year. Damned glad, the Yanx didn't take the Phillies spoiled bait..... I'm, ... Trying to look on the bright side, ya' know, focus on the finer points, .... which are often the trades, acquisitions, a Team Does NOT make/made...! Count our blessings...! His contract would of ruined 2015. I doubt Lee can return to his previous glory.....stick a fork in him, I'd wager his career is not done, but in its twilight sunset years......the best Web Gems are all behind him....! I still don't get it, why MLB News in general continues to refer to a "tear", as a "strain"... http://articles.philly.com/2014-08-...-ironpigs-righthander-miguel-alfredo-gonzalez Guess I'll strain this paper apart,.....!
Mr. cool pitching not for shit when the chips on the line and watching him pitch puts you to sleep no fire.
Assuming we keep Pineda, & we have CC, Nova & Tanaka back & assuming the Yankees can pick up a new starter, I don't see Phelps coming back next season. And if he does, I'm guess strictly bullpen for long relief.
on a positive note, Drew was 2nd in Fielding Pctg. at SS, (.984) in 2010 and 2013, 2013, Drew was 2nd only to Escobar of the Rays; (ahead of Cabrera/Tribe-.982, ....Hardy/O's-.981, and Escobar/KC-.979...... 2010-Drew is noted as 2nd behind-Tulo, yet both had a .984 identical fldg. pctg.*** [Tulo had a few .000X (ten-thousandths) better pctg.? see***] In 39 games at SS this year, he's at an even better .989 fldg pctg. The kid can field no doubt about it. He just needs some more hacks, some refinements, video, dedication to take an hour or two worth of extra hacks, in the basement batting cage. Shades of Donnie BB, Tony Gwynn. Or maybe the late start has him off stride? Repetitive Practice makes damn near perfect, most times. Or am I dreaming......? I know I've been critical of Drew's anemic bat, not hitting over .260 since 09, and that CAN be worked on, fixed IMO. However-one can't deny his ability to field at SS.... I know this isn't 2010, keep in mind Drew's current 014 Fldg. Pctg. is better than ever in his career.... 2010 - both Tulo/Drew w/ .984 Fielding Pctg’s. (according to "MLB-Reference.com")-***(my own calculations reveal Tulo had a .987 fldg. pctg). Chances -PUT OUTS - Assists - Errors Tulo: 609 211 388 10 Drew: 607 206 391 10 2005: Drew in A+ Lancaster: 38 Games/149 AB/ 33 Runs/ 58 Hits/ 16 Doubles/ 3 Triples/ 10 HR’s/ .389 B’Avg. The kid should come around with the bat. Tho’ Minor Lg. Stats aren’t much an indicator of MLB performance, at best a snap shot of what may be or not. It can be a glimpse into a players potential, or not.
Don't teams go over pitching reports anymore on how to pitch to certain batters?. He just threw a beach ball to Ortiz, now its 7-4. Lets just keep playing catch up.
Well thanks to Drew, yes I said Drew and his 4 RBI, we're tied up at 7. BTW: Rob Do you need to see the box score?
Thanks for asking Rick....! I bookmarked the last link you sent me, and learned how to reset the site for each game. And, were getting the game on ESPN tonight, I mean B.S.PN....
Holy Cow-abunga..... The Fan CAM just showed Totus close up, WTF-he's wearing a Boston Hat....:MARIS61: OMG...traitor in our midst..... If your out there Tote, wishing you and yours the best....!!!
