I was just browsing the board, and I happened to be readng a random post by CB4. Out of the corner of my eye I see "Please fire the worst coach in the NBA" or somethign to that affect. I looked up and I didn't see Doc Rivers. So my question to you guys is, who is the worst coach in the NBA at the moment? I obviously choose Doc Rivers, but I'm sure there are multiple opinions on this. I'll post more reasoning later as I am about to go out, but I'll be interested to see some of the responses.

I really can't come up with one coach that I feel is the worst in the league, but I'll name three coaches I think are pretty bad to start the topic off, and post my reasonings a little later. Keep in mind, this is in no particular order:Doc Rivers (Celtics)Maurice Cheeks (76ers)Dwayne Casey (Timberwolves)

Guys you are forgetting Bob Hill from seattle.Look at our record..... out of the 6 games we lost I think we lost by a combined total of less than 25 point - 10 of those from the utah game yesterday. The guy cant coach down the stretch. He has a pretty good line up to work with. Some great shooters and yet cant come up with a way to get us over the line. If pop and Riley or someone like that coached us I bet our record would be a sh*t load better.

I cant believe Sam Mitchell hasnt been mentioned yet. He IS the worst coach in the NBA. The only thing he's good for is his honesty with his players, and motivation.Mike Woodson is another one.

Mike Woodson anyone..He is yet to do anything at all with this team..Joe Johnson is the reason we are 4-3, not Mike Woodson, Woodson really befuddles me sometimes. I don't exactly like anyone in our organazation at all; we have some terrible management..

I was actually going to put them on my original list, but I couldn't remember the coach's name off the top of my head and I was too lazy to look it up.

Yeah... anyone notice that in the people listed it's ONLY in the lower echelon teams?I daresay SOME of their problems come from a lack of talent. Mike Woodson, for example, has a young team that I think ANYONE would struggle to win with. I will have to say Sam Mitchell, though. This stems mostly from the fact that as coach he's supposed to be a motivator. Instead he seems to be a divisive influence in the locker room.

This is very difficult to figure out because you can be a good coach on a bad team, and be considered a bad coach. I think Maurice Cheeks is a great coach and one of the better coaches in the league. He finally got Allen Iverson to become a true passing point guard and he has developed Samuel Dalambert to the legit center everyone thought he would be. He has alot of talent on his team but the chemistry isn't there and it's not Mo's fault. Chris Webber isn't getting any younger and Allen Iverson and Chris Webber don't have the right relationship for the 76'ers to be contender in the East. Bob Hill, Dwyane Casey, and Sam Mitchell are the worst coaches in the league because they have alot of talent and skill to work with.

Jesus Christ, I am f*cking pissed off at Sam Mitchell. He can't teach our guy's defense, he subs Chris Bosh and TJ off once they start to get going. Get this sack of sh*t out of here. I wont take a 2-7 start. Im pissed.

For me its Jeff Vangundy. Hes a big name coach, but has never acomplished anything big. And now that he is in Houston hehas been a dissapoinment. He has not been able to take advantage of Tmac and Yao, and therefore the team has somewhat struggled. In addition, despite all the hype that Yao is getting now, he has not really helped develop his game. Also Bob hill sucks hes probably number 2

Eddie Jordan.. the word "defense" is not in his vocabulary. His rotations are terrible, as well.

But, like you said, Webber is the biggest problem for the Sixers... not Cheeks.

Coaches in the NBA are too short of a leash. A lot of them get fired for things beyond their control. How many times do we hear stuff like, "Man, he's really turned this team around...what job by (insert coach here)." A year later, everyone wants him fired. THis happens in the NBA all the damn time. It's really annoying. Anyway, the worst coach in the NBA is...someone not named Phil Jackson.

I'd say Bob Hill just from what I've read on him and what Seattle fans have been saying about him. Doc is definately up there, his in-game coaching decisions boggle my mind.

When one of your player has to snatch the clipboard away from you and right up plays, you know you're an awful coach.Dwayne casey

Dwayne Casey has some nice talent on his team, and there is no doubt that the Wolves are underperforming, and that can be put on the coach. If he can't get his guys up to play, and convert that talent into wins like he should be able to, then he needs to be relieved of his job.

Eddie Jordan.. the word "defense" is not in his vocabulary. His rotations are terrible, as well. Are you kidding me? How can a Wizards fan say Eddie Jordan is the worst coach in the NBA. He's the best coach that Washington has had in years leading them to two straight post seasons and your complaing about him being the worst coach because there not off to such a good start this year? Give me a break. Eddie Jordan is doing a great job imo.Anyway my pick is Seatles Coach
