As for In-n-Out, its "ok". I don't go actively seeking it out, every once in a while I'll go since its close and open late. There are a few other joints that are a little better, I like Fatburger and The Habit better, which are also close. Not a real fan of fast food burgers, I usually go for the more upscale gourmet burgers.

I went to the infamous "In-and-Out" Burger when I was in San Francisco recently. I wanted to taste what all the fuss was about. The place was packed and it took forever.

Big fucking deal. So fucking overratted. A completely mediocre hamburger. From what I can gather, what makes them "special" is their sauce. Which is more or less identical to the old Arctic Circle hamburger and fry sauce. Arctic Circle had the best burgers in my area -- until they were put out of business by McDonald's, Burger King, and Wendy's. Still pisses me off.

    Ah, Capitalism.

Nate only likes hamburgers prepared by hipster over educated underemployed white people.

You really have to order it right. Cheeseburger Animal Style, get the fries animal style as well. Used to go for the double double with grilled onions. Just ordering a regular burger there is pretty wack.

This is how I do it.

My favorite burger in LA (Father's Office) bans ketchup and no substitutions or modifications. :MARIS61:

Wait, I thought we were talking about fast food. Not one-off restaurants.

That's what I've been trying to say! I equate In and Out/Burgerville with fastfood.

I just ate at Arctic Circle last weekend, down in Newport. Very good indeed. I guess there's one in McMinnville still as well. It was nostalgic. I grew up right by an Arctic Circle on Lombard when I was a kid.

i remember burgerville being super yum, and in and out is pretty great hot off the grill

and then there is the mystical wtf of white castle or krystal burger...you can buy them in the freezer isle and they taste exactly the same. there is this weird cult about that shit.

5 guys burgers and fries is pretty good, not exactly fast food but close enough

If you have it fresh Krystal's trumps White Castle easily. White Castle is overly greasy compared to Krystal's.
