Only 4 players in the History of MLB, have had a minimum of 25 HR's in their first 3 consecutive years in MLB.

    Mel Ott

    Eddie Matthews

    Frank Robinson

    Mike Trout

Ah I forgot to add not only did these 4 players have 3 consec. yrs. at 25 HR's, they all had their 3 years of 25 HR's, by the age of 23....

today's Trouts Birthday, 23rd...hit a HR in Oakland on his 21st B'Day, another on his 22nd B'day in Texas. So far no tater for Trout tonight, going to bed, he's got one more at bat, to hit that Bday HR.....

Bums are leading 4-0..bottom of 6th.....

Yep, your right Rick, why Fox Sports West, (Gubicza) didn't mention Pujols is beyond me, you'd think if anyone would of mentioned Prince Albert, the Angels FSW Network would of, shame on them, and my bad too.

NTM-looks like Pujols hit a lot more HR's by the age of 23 in those 3 consecutive yrs. Haven't checked each players stats, but I'd imagine no one has equalled Pujols feat, by the age of 23....37, 34 and 43 Bombs by Albert.

Hell, Joe DiMaggio did as much too by the age of 23, 3 consecutive yrs of more than 25 HR's.....now this has got me going, if I can find time, I'll look at a few more players, who probably did as much, which FSW doesn't have a clue about, but then I also saw this stat on MLB-TV, and should of known better than to trust any data from those fools. Can't always trusts sports news ..... shit fire....!

Mel Ott shouldn't even be on this list. But Mark Trumbo & Mark Teixeira should be. as far as AT LEAST 25+ HRs in there first 3 seasons.

Speaking of Trout and the Angels I see that one of my favorites, CJ "Pretty Boy" Wilson had his head and shoulders rinsed out by the Dodgers last night.

...I'm still trying to figure how both Trout and Ellsbury are rated as defensively below average.

    ^^^ Trout is showing a -0.02 DEFENSIVE WAR...and Ellsbury a -0.03 DEFENSIVE WAR.

As has been previously mentioned by both Rob & I, I really don't put much thought into WAR. I'd rather go by what I actually see & IMO they're both GG outfielders.

Ah....I see now, thanks 59.....I was guessing as much, that effing WAR stat again.......to hell with WAR ...... proof WAR as a stat is BS...? I think so....I believe ya' all do as much......

Appreciate the info, and I'm no longer buying WAR as a legitimate stat.....nope, WAR is only for Armed Forces, I know Trout is an assassin, maybe not a Clementesque sniper, but not a VFW...... (WTF does that mean, hell I don't know)
