A Florida man named Julion Evans died several weeks ago from a rare and painful disorder that slowly destroys nerves, digestive system and organs. He had a large family and circle of friends who wanted to hold the funeral service in the church his family attended. The day before the servicethe pastor canceled, leaving the mourners stuck with no place for the funeral service. The pastor only learned when he read the obituary in the newspaper that the deceased had been married to his male partner of 17 years.

Explaining that the deceased' "lifestye" (by which I guess is meant married, monogamous, church-going Christian) would render the service "blasphemy" adding that as being "man of God", Pastor TW Jenkins canceled the service.

Which reminds me of the old joke "thank God I'm an atheist".

Pretty sickening act on the pastors part especially considering since the man is diseased his "sins in life" are a matter of the past and will be dealt with by God and the way the Pastor feels has no part to play in it.
With that being said though to me its an issue of the timing of the cancelation and not the fact the pastor canceled. Since having the pastor there is a matter of religion then the Pastor has every right to not accept the job or cancel the service based on his riligous beliefs and feelings. Canceling the day before is disgraceful and a slap in the face to his grieving family.

It's disrespectful, but he won't know his parents didn't have his funeral. =\

Sure, the pastor has the legal right. But there is a little something about loving thy neighbor. About doing unto others. About charity and compassion and a few other things that those who most loudly proclaimed their godliness seem to be the least aware of.

Pastor has the funeral he loses parishioners and more importantly Sunday donations. Have members in the gay community offer him $10k to hold the funeral and he'll say yes. This is about money, not morality.

Love me some hypocrisy. Let's over-generalize all religion and God.

I'm pretty sure you wouldn't like me over-generalizing and stereotyping the gay community, no?

Jesus said to love each other.

It happened in Florida. The South is like a separate country. Its evil culture dominates the U.S. If only Lincoln had let them secede.

Remember about 3 days ago you said at my age I need more sleep and should get to bed by 8?

I took your advice. Glad to be back.

Enjoy my deep thoughts while you can. I'm going to sleep about 8 again. I'm on like a 35-hour daily cycle.

His family ought to raise hell with this psycho fundamentalist.

But to answer your question - definitely Ann Coulter.
