It's usually 6 days a week for me and a nice long soak in the hot tub. My primary reason for going is to actually work on my fitness. Socializing happens at times.
4 days a week for me. 3 of those days are treadmill and one day is swimming. 2 of the treadmill days are bball and 1 is lifting (I need to lift more - but I not going for muscle just to lose the spare tire) while the swimming day is just a hot soak after.
Dude, you need to flip that. Swimming > treadmill. I was easily in the best shape of my life when I was swimming three days a week. No amount of running can prepare your lungs for swimming in my experience, and you work so many muscle groups.
I do struggle much more at the swimming part so you are definitely on to something. The pool is just harder to get into for some reason then the treadmill but I will work on that.
Running can be so hard on your knees. Swimming is almost zero impact. Also, it tones muscle while working cardio. There's a reason why swimmers are always so ripped.
Any exercise is good exercise. With that said, I enjoy swimming a couple days of week. But I can see how some people enjoy running more than swimming.
Sure it can be more enjoyable. You can run anywhere. You can put on music and just run around a track. But my knees are too crappy to run anymore, and swimming kicks my ass.
