No teams wanted to give up much to get him or pay him want he wanted because he won't play defence. Monroe needs to prove he can this season.

Bledsoe just wanted too much money. His agent should've convinced him to take the 4/48 like Lowry got.

I don't think taking the QO will be good for either of them.

I really think if Monroe played defense he'd be in Portland right now, of course Detroit probably also would have wanted more than they wanted originally if that was the case.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
If Monroe could play defense along with his excellent post game, the Pistons probably max him.

I think he should give Van Gundy a shot. He's a really good coach and as good as Monroe is, he hasn't put a team on his back on won anything yet. It's a good opportunity for him to develop an all around game and be the man in Detroit as they rebuild. Pistons definitely max him next summer if it works. I like loyalty and hope it makes a comeback in the game. If a trade does happen I think Bird gets him in Indy.

Thats a lot of money to turn down to play on a 5.5m contract but he will get the Max next season as long as he plays similar to what he has been doing. He must really HATE the pistons to do this. I expect the pistons to trade him for scraps this year since they know they won't get to resign him.
I can't see Bledsoe doing this because of his injury history, he gets hurt to much to take the QO and try and become a FA next season.

i think if you sign the QO you have no trade rights for the year or a veto or whatever

I think he can veto any trade offer.

Yeah that's what I was trying to say, I think a hyphen between no-trade would have made it more read-able
