The wife of Robin Williams revealed Thursday that at the time of his death, the late comedian was not only battling depression and anxiety but the early stages of Parkinson’s Disease. “Robin’s sobriety was intact and he was brave as he struggled with his own battles of depression, anxiety as well as early stages of Parkinson’s Disease, which he was not yet ready to share publicly,” said Susan Schneider, in a statement. Parkinson’s affects nearly 10 million people, according to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation. The National Institutes of Health cites that “for people with depression and Parkinson’s disease, each illness can make symptoms of the other worse.” Schneider was Williams’ third wife. Read her entire statement below. ““Robin spent so much of his life helping others. Whether he was entertaining millions on stage, film or television, our troops on the frontlines, or comforting a sick child — Robin wanted us to laugh and to feel less afraid. Since his passing, all of us who loved Robin have found some solace in the tremendous outpouring of affection and admiration for him from the millions of people whose lives he touched. His greatest legacy, besides his three children, is the joy and happiness he offered to others, particularly to those fighting personal battles. Robin’s sobriety was intact and he was brave as he struggled with his own battles of depression, anxiety as well as early stages of Parkinson’s Disease, which he was not yet ready to share publicly. It is our hope in the wake of Robin’s tragic passing, that others will find the strength to seek the care and support they need to treat whatever battles they are facing so they may feel less afraid.” http://time.com/3111911/robin-williams-dead-parkinsons/ other videos: "wait for it"...

Re: OT: Robin Williams Battled with Parkinson's Say's Wife + Link to Other Williams V Extract: "Men With Broken Hearts" Hank Williams Oh how humble you should be, when they come passing by, For it's written that the greatest men, never get to big to cry. Some lose faith in love and life when sorrow shoots her darts, With hope all gone they walk alone, these men with broken hearts. You never walked in that mans shoes, or saw things through his eyes, Or stood and watched with helpless hands, while the heart inside you dies. Some were paupers, some were kings, some were masters of the arts, But in their shame they're all the same these men with broken hearts.
Re: OT: Robin Williams Battled with Parkinson's Say's Wife + Link to Other Williams V OUTSTANDING Michael.....Beautiful fitting, great prose/lyrics, love it....very fitting.....Hank Williams one of my favs, and also a Giant Legend, who paved the way for many a great to come.......... R. Williams quote: "you got to laugh, otherwise you just might cry" An Epic Giant Legend he was/will be.....!!!
Re: OT: Robin Williams Battled with Parkinson's Say's Wife + Link to Other Williams V I had Hank Williams under a magnifying glass back in the late 80's early 90s. The man had the hadle on human emotions for certain. In cases where people have taken their own lives the question most often prompted is why. And the lyrics to "Men With Broken Hearts" pretty much tells the tale. A good friend of mine once stated that there is a price one has to pay for that fame. Yep, celebrities have the adulation, money, prestige, the whole nine yards so the rank and file may wonder damn they had all that what makes them do what they did, we really don't know, we're not walking in their paths. Another Hank Williams lyric line of absolute truth is "no matter how I struggle and strive, I'll never get out of this world alive" the hook line of the last tune he recorded before he passed.
Re: OT: Robin Williams Battled with Parkinson's Say's Wife + Link to Other Williams V Incredible coming from the Legendary and Great Hank Williams, One of the Original Kings of the Honky Tonk if not THE KING, of them....loved George Jone's HT style to, "crying in my beer"....Gram Parsons too, duets with Emmy Lou did some incredible Honky Tonk Tunes: "That's All It Took" (Jone-Wynette), "Streets of Baltimore" (Tompall Glaser & His bro), et al.
Re: OT: Robin Williams Battled with Parkinson's Say's Wife + Link to Other Williams V Holy crap.... That could've pushed him over the edge...
Re: OT: Robin Williams Battled with Parkinson's Say's Wife + Link to Other Williams V So Awakenings met Patch Adams met When Dreams May Come. Sad.
Re: OT: Robin Williams Battled with Parkinson's Say's Wife + Link to Other Williams V I for one, never knew he had Parkinsons. I do and have known several people with that horrid disease, and it literally begins (sooner or later) to not only take over the body, but the way the mind thinks too.....very sad.....!!!
Re: OT: Robin Williams Battled with Parkinson's Say's Wife + Link to Other Williams V no doubt...and The Dead Poets Society will do Robin's Eulogy....!!!
