RHP Brandon McCarthy 7-11 4.31 vs. RHP Alex Cobb 7-6 3.41 Note on McCarthy, since joining the Yankees, McCarthy is 4-1 with a 2.21 ERA, compared to 3-10 and a 5.01 ERA with the Diamondbacks.
FWIW: Note on the Rays pitcher Cobb, He hasn't lost a decision since June 23rd. He is 6-0 with a 3.49 ERA in 8 starts since then
I've heard the Rays propaganda machine on Bay New 9 most of the day. If they can reach .500 they'll be the 4th to do so after being down as far as they were. I don't think they will make the playoffs either. At this point in time I'd say Seattle, Kansas City, or Detroit will be the 2d Wildcard. Kuroda goes ROD at this time of the year, Greene has been nice, Capuano & McCarthy have chipped in but I'm not sure if this group is up to the task. On Tanaka I'd be careful, better to maybe shut him down rather than ruin his future.
They showed stats on MLB today of how Longoria has hit the Yankees since'12. Need to throw him some chin music and keep him honest.
Judging by how that 1st inning went I've got a bad feeling about this game. And remember the Rays are only 2 games behind the Yankees after being 18 games under 500 earlier in the season.
Am I the only one watching this game? Oh well not going to post by myself, mine as well step out for a while. Anyway in the 3rd still down 2-0
Not watching the game just looking in, looks like another choke job in progress at this point in time.
McCarthy had a rough 1st inning giving up 2 runs but he's been lights out over the last 5. Once again this is just lack of offense. Still 2-0 now in the 7th.
