He's playing excellent ball right now, and the warriors are 7-3. In the games I've seen him play (2), he really dominates the game more than his stats convey. He's going strong to the hoop, scoring and finding the open man. He's also doing this when JRich is playing horribly, with a new coach/system. the record is very impressive.btw, I'm stating that he will be a candidate, not the winner.
I guess I can agree with you there. Baron has really been a floor leader out there and is playing tremendously well. I still think it's too early in the season to make this assumption but for what I've seen so far this season, I definetly say that he is a canidate.
I honestly thought Golden State was going to be the suprising team last year, but injuries and other things said otherwise. As long as Baron keeps up what he is doing now, Golden State is going to have the year I thought they were going to have last year, and yes I would stick him in the voting ballot.

If he does though, I think he should be in the running. He is having a hell of a season, and his team is doing really great. I dont think you can leave him out of it.
I see him in the top 10. But just look at the other players who will be in the running:Chirs Paul(possible)KobeNashBrandDuncanYao(possible)WadeLeBron

If Baron keeps playing a pass first mentality, he will be an MVP candidate.
If the Warriors continue their success then his name has to be out there for consideration. He has had a couple of massive games this season, and the Warriors look to be playoff bound. Don Nelson is also going to be a lock for Coach of the Year if they keep up their great basketball.
I like Baron Davis, he's an incredibly talented player, but he won't be an MVP candidate IMO. He will have some sort of injury that keeps him out 15+ games and Golden State will not finish the season as well as they have begun. This type of thing happens every year with the Warriors. Baron starts off looking like a superstar, fans get excited. Conclusion: Baron is on the sideline and fans are dissapointed. I could see them making the playoffs, but even if they do they are easily a first round exit at the 8th seed. But Baron is an excellent player, but he's no MVP candidate, not in the top 5 anyway.
Baron Davis is doing what he's always done statisticly...his team is just better coached and they are winning. I don't think he should be considered an MVP candidate right now.
I dont think so. Baron Davis has been doing amazingly well so far, but the Warriors might not even make the playoffs, and if they do, they;ll be a 7th seed at best. They have Jason Richardsonr unning the team as well. Combine that with the fact that the 7th seed isnt good enough to warrant an MVP award, and you've got a no for an answer.
I honestly don't think Baron Davis could be a top 5 when going agaisnt names like Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant, and Tim Duncan. He'd have to do something monsterous (I.e. steven nash 2004-05) to be a candidate.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>They have Jason Richardsonr unning the team as well.</div>Jason Richardson has been playing awful, he has career lows in points, steals, assists, and is currently shooting 38% from the floor. Baron can definately be considered as an MVP candidate right now. The Warriors are 7-3 without Troy Murphy or Ike Diogu, like I said before J-Rich hasn't been playing well, and Baron's field goal percentages are up and his turnovers are down. I don't see why he couldn't be considered an MVP right now.
Deron has been doing a great job but he's also playing with AK47, Carlos Boozer, and Mehmet Okur.Troy Murphy is injured for the Warriors and J-Rich has been playing like sh*t. I'd say Baron has the edge. I also know BCB you're an avid Baron hater haha. So I doubt you'll agree with any of the posts giving props to Baron.f*cking BCB deleting his posts, this was a response to BCB's post saying that Deron Williams was getting no love as an MVP candidate. (in case anyone was wondering)

He's only scoring like 14 a game, he's by no means leading the team.
J-Rich is a stud. He will come back, and start scoring 20 a game. I'm saying this becausen Baron isnt the clear cut leader of the team, which makes it very hard to win the award. Also, the Warriors are doing well, but even if they do make the playoffs, they won't be high enough for Baron to win the award over other more deserving candidates whose teams are some of the bests in the league.
Every MVP except Nash, Kareem, and Jordan in like the last 30 years has been on the #1 or #2 team in their conference. There's no way the warriors have enough sucess for baron to be a candidate

They have been playing great right now and Monta Ellis has had over 30 the last 2 games...They have alot of different guys who can score every night and they are VERY deep. Also, Richardson has been playing like sh*t right now so in no way is he the "leader" of the team. Although their team is very talented and very deep, he is the leader and when you are the leader of a good team, you deserve to get the most recognition.
