ESPN.com released the preseason picks for the network's college football experts on Tuesday, with each offering their selections for the winner of the 'Power 5' conferences as well as the predictions for the inaugural College Football Playoff. Of the 23 analysts polled, 12 have Alabama winning the SEC Championship Game and 16 have the Tide making the four-team College Football Playoff. On top of the 16 playoff picks, 12 analysts have Alabama making the championship game. Former Miami, Cleveland Browns, and UNC head coach Butch Davis has Alabama winning the national championship, as do ESPN writers Travis Haney and Gene Wojciechowski as well as reporter Brett McMurphy.
