Big disappointments, or outright disgrace?

Without bringing salaries into the equation (then it's no contest)...
...has there ever been a team with as many good accomplished hitters who have failed as a group so miserably as this current Yankee team?

Obviously there have been a couple of guys (Prado, Gardner, Ells, even Cervelli) who haven't embarrassed themselves this year.....but....this bunch of gaggers have scored 3 or less runs in approximately (<-- for '59) 48% of Yankee games. They have scored 2 or less runs in APPROXIMATELY 31% of their games.

Girardi should start making statements, if it's not too late... by adjusting the lineup.
Drop Tex to 6th or 7th...same for Beltran. McCann also,...7th or lower..
I also know about Jeter....65% (approx 65%....'59, don't get your shorts tangled) of his batted balls in play are GROUND Balls. I'll cut the Captain slack- HE IS THE ONE WHO DESERVES IT.
I don't really care if Prado or Gardner or Ellsbury or Cervelli bat near the middle of the lineup if it serves it's purpose. ---> Girardi: THE TEAM COMES FIRST.

...lol...nice to know I'm in your head.

...lol, why would I get my "shorts tangled" about Jeter if you "cut the Captain slack"?...all these swings and misses must really hurt.

    ...perhaps a proof-reader would help you...but then again, maybe I'm just "nit-picking".

I see things a little differently. Teixeira yeah, I'd dump him in a heartbeat if the Yankees could do it but We're stuck with him. McCann & Beltran, maybe I'm crazy but I'm going to give them both a pass but only for this season. Beltran has played hurt for most of the year. McCann, new league new pitches etc.

You mentioned a lot of problems but you offer no solutions. If you drop McCann, Tex & Beltran down in the order what would your lineup look like. Just curious.

What would your 1-9 order look like?

'59, I was referring to the "approx 65%", and not cutting the Captain slack. Obviously this went over your big head.
Sarcasm? Ever hear of it? It's possible Jeter's groundball numbers could be off by a percentage point or 2, or 3.

So, if Jeter's batted balls (put into play) happens to be 62% and not 65%, please untangle your shorts - most normal people would get THE POINT. lol.....dummasss
You were too quick to attack me and missed my original sarcasm (regarding your nitpickin' pussyasss attitude)... it was about the percent,, it was NOT about "cutting slack".

Looks like you kinda lost this one. lol.... dummasss

I'll leave that to you and Girardi...as long as those three bat at least 6th and lower and in no particular order.

How about Ellsbury, Jeter, Gardner, Prado, Headly, Ichiro/Wheeler...and then those three. Could it really be much worse? And it would send THE message.

THE message needs to be sent!

    So...................

    Ellsbury
    Jeter
    Gardner
    Prado
    Headley
    Ichiro
    Beltran
    McCann
    Teixeira

You know, I've got to be honest, it'll never happen but I'd like to see it in a week or two after we're officially eliminated from a playoff spot. And like you said, at this stage it certainly couldn't hurt.

...lol...no, nothing went over my head...nothing you spew ever does.

...and I "attacked you" first?...read the OP again, you hypocrite. YOU were the one who felt the need to call me out by name.

...not sure how you feel you're somehow taking the high ground here...and not sure what you think I "lost". But again, as I said in my first reply, it's nice to know that I'm in your head.

I also believe it will never happen but I would like to see it happen as soon as possible and not after they are eliminated from a playoff spot. Maybe, just maybe it would light a fire under Tex and McCann's butt and they'll make an honest and sincere attempt to hit a few balls towards the left side of the infield to beat the shift and raise the BA a few points and help create rallys and/or move along baserunnners.

Nobody is asking them to become slap hitters....just help the team and raise, and keep their BA above the .240-.250 range for crissakes.. They'll have at least 2 or 3 other ABs per game to take their cuts at hitting a long ball.

Beltran? Maybe he'll be the one to bat 6th and not any lower than that.
