I have no idea what George Karl has against Reggie Evans but he's not making the right moves. It's obvious we are playing alot better with Reggie Evans on the floor than Najera. He is one of the best rebounders in the league off the bench and he is a tough hard nosed defender. Reggie Evans is averaging 9 points and 8 rebounds in 19 minutes per game, Those numbers are amazing for the amount of minutes he logs per game.I love Najera, I love his hustle. But we need to start Evans.

Maybe he's Karl is still repramanding him from the whole nuts punching incident.... [IMG] jkYeah I agree, Evans has been playing great off the bench, he is a huge presence on the boards, also shooting 66% from the floor, granted most of his shots are lay ups and dunks but still, he's been extremely efficient.

I disagree with you, Tony. It makes perfect sense to me, actually. In the starting unit, you have Camby to clear the glass and you have Najera in there for toughness and grit. Now, especially with Nene out right now, you need a skilled rebounder in the 2nd unit as well. Najera does not bring that, Evans does.

With Najera in the starting unit, it brings more of a defensive presence and some hustle, and also allows you to run at a more efficient pace. With Evans off the bench, he provides the much needed rebounding presence and a physical presence down low.

I see no problems with this, and I think it's a very smart move by Karl.

No it's not. We play better with Evans on the floor ragardless of what Najera does. We need to stick with what wins us games.

I think they would do well to have Najera continue to start, but play Evans more minutes. The Nuggets have got to play Evans more than 19 minutes a game. He is a solid rebounder, a good defensive player, and someone that can really help this team out down low. Evans looked very good against the Magic in only 17 minutes, out playing Howard the entire 17 minutes he was in the game, and the Nuggets looked good with him in the game.

Evans is not a good starter. Seattle tried starting him many times but in the end he had the same production in less minutes coming off the bench. Might be a simalar story here.

Najera is more of a bench player. Evans would be a better starter. I love Najera's hustle off the bench giving them energy.

Doesn't matter. Last year, the Grizzlies obviously played better with Mike Miller on the floor with the starters... but he came off the bench because the team needed scoring off the bench. Denver needs rebounding off the bench. Closing out games, sure, have Camby and Evans on the floor at the same time. But you need that stability and rebounding presence off the bench. Replace Evans with Najera in the 2nd unit and you guys would get killed on the glass, especially with Nene out.
