I went to the Sounders/Timbers friendly in Portland the year before the Timbers went to MLS. I got a big kick out of Timbers fans chanting "Oklahoma City Sounders" lol

Edit: Also technically not correct. The Seattle Storm! :)

I got to ride the Seattle transit system a year or two ago. I literally laughed out loud to my Seattle buddies how Shitty it was.

I dig Seattle. Just a short drive away and a fun place to spend a weekend. Downtown is pretty cool for eating, street walking, culture, art taking ina ballgame and the place is alive at night (try waling around downtown LA at night).

San Juan islands is just a boat ferry away. Don't think I would want to live there given the congestion (terrible city planning) and the cost of living. But great place to visit for me

Hated driving in Seattle and the suburbs (I used to drive to/from Microsoft a ton in the late 90s to mid-00s). The city itself is nice - and way back in the days there used to be great Asian restaurants in downtown (maybe there still are), but my time there has been pretty limited since 2008.

I love Seattle's high-rises but man do their low rise/infill projects suck. In this regard, Portland is in another stratosphere. Just take a look at what's going up in the North Williams Ave. and SE Division neighborhoods. I love urban design and some of their infill projects in the heart of the city are mind-boggling bad. Ed O., you don't live in the 4-story grey and beige box a few blocks from the Space Needle, do you? If they aren't building a glitzy tower this is what they build.

I'm in Seattle right now, actually mercer island, where my brother lives. I come here often and like Seattle a bunch except for the super shitty traffic. But just about everything is better in portland in my opinion. Well, the nightlife might be a tad better in Seattle for youngsters, but for a 40 year old I'd take the more relaxed and less pretentious atmosphere of PDX. But I love all the water in Seattle, grew at views all over the place. Living on mercer island is a bit more expensive, but it's a great way to cut down on the traffic problem.

I like Seattle. I like LA, too, at least certain parts. I like San Francisco and Vancouver BC.

Fresno and Sacramento I can do without.

Seattle is awesome if you want to visit (Seahawks, Mariners weekend homestand, etc.). Living there would be another story probably. I wouldn't mind living near Seattle though, somewhere like Olympia/Tacoma (Tacoma mainly for the GREAT people watching).

Seattle's alright. Seems a bit overrated. I dunno. I'm going up there to watch the Mariners on Sept. 13th. That's generally the only time I go up to that city. I might have to check out some asian food while I'm up there.

I dunno. I think LA sucks too. Portland, San Diego, Boston and Chicago are the best cities I've been to. At least where I'd consider living.

Every big city sucks. People are more pleasant and polite in the Northwest than California. I last lived in Seattle 33 years ago, and Los Angeles 10 years before that. I managed to avoid being knifed, so I can impart my profound wisdom to all.

As for the classiest places to eat, Wendy's has the best dollar menu. But right now Burger King is introducing 2 new $5 sandwiches at half-price. You get 2 for $5. They are built like a Big Mac (2 pieces of meat with a 3rd bun between them). One has a lot of mushrooms.
