Wow. Kids aren't feeling so entertained these days, I suppose. Memphis Teen Mob Storms Kroger, Knocking Random Victims Unconscious http://www.newsmax.com/TheWire/memphis-teen-mob-kroger/2014/09/09/id/593473/
These youths are combining flash mob robberies with the knockout game. Bravo. All they need to do is to include the "Fire Challenge" and then make it rain with all the loot they steal.
fucking punks..second weekend that attacks have occurred? I would not visit that location unless I was armed.
Different story, but did you hear about those kids who poured feces and urine on an autistic kid telling him it was the ice bucket challenge? Then there are those kids in oregon who tortured a kid and carved a swastika on him. Not all kids are bad like this, and it's easy to assume they are with how often media reports stuff like this. There are definitely some bad youths out there, but there are plenty of good ones too. It honestly starts with the parents. Some people shouldn't be allowed to have children.
True. But peer pressure is a MF'er. When there are these mob-like scenes, I don't necessarily put as much weight on the parents. Sure, parents should know where their kids are, but how many of us did stupid shit as teens? How many of us were somewhere else than our parents thought? How many of us did stupid shit because of peer pressure. I put situations like this more on peer pressure than parenting.
That is as fair a point as you can make. Parents can teach their children about peer pressure but can't prevent them from experiencing it. We all definitely have done things we regret in our youth, it's how we learn from it and better ourselves because of it that matters. That being said, all of these kids have an opportunity to become a better person by reflecting and learning from this act. I always try not to be quick to judge, maybe the kid who came up with the idea just lost a parent or sibling. Maybe they are being abused at home and this is them lashing out. Not saying that it makes it okay, but there is always more to a story than is on the surface.
Still shocking. I mean, peer pressure or not, you'd think kids would understand it ain't cool to cause intentional harm to others. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a small part of the group that had that intention, and the peer pressure/pack mentality took over.
A lot of people are thinking that probably, next thing that's gonna happen is one of those bastards are gonna get shot and the media will turn it into a racial shooting and further evidence for gun control.
After giving this some thought, this is more of a result of lack of being held accountable for ones actions and being able to act in an anonymous fashion, as though being online or playing a video game. I dont place much value of writing this off to bad parents or peer pressure, for the most part these guys know they are being dickheads because they would never do this alone..or in any fashion where they would be taken to task for their actions
