http://www.breitbart.com/news/2006/11/21/D8LH9VQO0.html<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>A passenger initially raised concerns about the group through a note passed to a flight attendant, according to Andrea Rader, a spokeswoman for US Airways. She said police were called after the captain and airport security workers asked the men to leave the plane and the men refused. "They took us off the plane, humiliated us in a very disrespectful way," said Omar Shahin, of Phoenix. The six Muslim scholars were returning from a conference in Minneapolis of the North American Imams Federation, said Shahin, president of the group. Five of them were from the Phoenix-Tempe area, while one was from Bakersfield, Calif., he said. Three of them stood and said their normal evening prayers together on the plane, as 1.7 billion Muslims around the world do every day, Shahin said. He attributed any concerns by passengers or crew to ignorance about Islam. "I never felt bad in my life like that," he said. "I never. Six imams. Six leaders in this country. Six scholars in handcuffs. It's terrible."</div> I'm getting sick and tired of stupid Americans causing these senseless problems on airplanes. These men did nothing wrong and were obviously checked very closely before going on the plane. Ignorance.

It's a shame - Americans need to be educated about Islam - just because they were doing their mandatory prayers they had to go through this humiliation and inconveniences, and all because these two people were not educated about the religion.

Americans don't know anything about the middleeast, anything about the history there, anything about terrorism, so how and the hell do you think we are supposed to know anything about their prayer? After 9/11 I took the time to educate myself on the middleeast..etc..by reading up on it. I wish more Americans would bother to do the same.

Well the sad thing is that the minority of Muslims(terrorist) have set a bad precidence for the rest of them. Americans have a reason to be fearful of Muslims, we're bombblasted everyday with some middle east cleriq saying how evil we are and how we're going to pay. so it was only a matter of time before something like this happened. I can't say I disagree with the people on the plane, because it was muslims who flew the planes into the trade towers, had it been Black guys from Oakland who did the same thing, people who act the same way towards blacks as they do towards Muslims.

So if someone is on a plane - that means he isn't going to be dangerous. No matter how many of these muslim clerics said we hate america, people still shouldnt stereotype anyone like this. We already have learned from this, we shouldnt be doing it again.

We are suppost to be safe yes, but are we? I have a friend who works for the TSA and the stuff that gets brought to an airport is just crazy. everyone in this country needs to be on the lookout for terrorist, not to the point of paranoia but just be aware. I agree steriotyping sucks, but there is a pattern here with Muslim men and terrorism that shouldn't be overlooked.

But people need to realize that muslims are really looked into before they got on planes...often double checked..etc..etc..Right or wrong, oh well, thats reality. I'm tired of hearing news about muslims getting kicked off flights because Americans are ignorant.

Man I was FULL body searched this summer. Do I look like a terrorist, no - but my name is Eslam, which is an arabic name and very close to Islam the religion. What I mean by full body searched is I had to spread my legs, put my arms up and I was felt down and everything.

Like I said before the American Media is constantly showing stuff about Iraq and Afghanistan. 9/11 only happened five years ago and is still in the back of everyones mind. there was that foiled plot in August. when there is so many things involving Muslims going on its only natural to reguard them with some suspesion. 99% of muslims are probibly peaceful or indiffernt to the American way of life and wouldn't do anything, but there is that 1% who could do something, and with a billion plus Muslims in the world, that means potentially a million of them could be bad.

Typical. This is what happens when one is un-educated about something. It's their right to perform prayer. They're practicing their religion without prompting the slightest harm to others.

I think the US?s biggest failure in the war on terror, well besides invading Iraq, is not reaching out Muslims, and educating Americans on Islam. Here in Michigan we have thousands of Muslims, many of whom were born here and are American just like us. These people are appalled by the actions of Islamic extremists, yet we seldom hear their voices. As a result all Arabic people are viewed with deep suspicion by many ?normal? Americans. Americans are largely Christian and many Christians view Islam as akin to devil worship. I know many people who think Islam in and of itself as being evil. Maybe if American knew more about Islam and what they believe would help in this conflict. What I really find sad is that in a country that should have no official god or religion, that praying to the god of your choice can make others so frightened or angry. If these were six catholic priests I guarantee that some fellow passengers would have been annoyed, but I doubt the priests would have been removed from the plane. These men were making a prayer, rather than people being frightened by that why didn?t people join them in prayer? Why can?t religious people get on their knees next to some one of a differing faith and pray for their safety as they board a plane? Why not pray for peace, or for our country?

Well I can't blame the flight people for this really. I mean, if 6 people, not necessarily islamic, stood up right before takeoff and started chanting prayers, I'd be pretty freaked out too. Why couldn't these guys pray to themselves? Oh I know, because this whole thing was staged!!!

Muslims don't do silent prayers like Christians (well they do the 4 big ones where they get on the rugs, I'm sure they silently pray inbetween).

When terrorists attack they are on their knees praying . :no1:
