I think it is a legitimate concern as it is with most teams. I keep posting this example as I just can't get past the horror I witnessed last year in LA against the Clippers. The Clips stepped up the pressure in a close game and basically kept us from getting a shot off for about 2-3 minutes. But I think that happens with most teams when they get pressured. Look at Cp3 in the playoffs last year when they choked against OKC. Even he was frustrated by the pressure. For this reason I favor small ball in crunch time. You got to have 3 guys on the floor who can handle the ball. I think the example you are thinking of for Blake in years past, was when he was the only PG on the floor. I prefer two PG's on the floor. Dame, CJ/Blake and Batum could get it done. OKC with Jackson, Westbrook and Durant will be hard for most teams though. I love Wes and he is not horrible at it, but I would not classify his ball handling as one of his strengths.
That season when Turkey Glue hit that three at the buzzer to give Orlando victory over us...... Blake caused that loss with his inability to handle the rock. He lost another game or two, made a few others closer than they needed to be, and blew a couple opportunities for us to win by mishandling the rock in the final moments. So, yeah, I'd prefer Dame, CJ, and Batum.
So in other words the players are practicing things that will hold no weight during the season? How I would love for la to take a step back, but I dont think he will ever do it.
Didn't most of this board roast Meyers for months last year because he shot a few threes after practice?
Today (still shooting 100%): Comments: Why so little CJ? So... is the goal to make Will into a PG? Who's the poor sap trying to guard LaMarcus (besides Joel)? Wesley's jumper is just so smooth. Not sure about his plan to try attacking off the dribble more. What's wrong with me that I could watch hours of this stuff?
Kaman looks solid! Though, I don't know about those low/mids that he's wearing. They look like Beavis and Butthead shoes.
Wes looks great! LA looks great! Again, shoutout to Joel for an obviously quicker release and higher arc on his jumper. Freeland and Kaman looked solid playing together. Will looks to have taken his jumper to church..it's going to be a game changer and CJ will have to really bring it to get Will's minutes. Lot of rivalry going into training camp
No, it was because when asked how he had improved all summer in Blazer practice facility workouts, he answered that he'd practiced his shooting. Whoever edits these keeps the asst. coaches out of the picture, and shows every player making at least one shot.
I want LA shooting threes. It would open up drives for Dame and P&R lanes for Nic-Rolo. It's not like LA clogs the space now, but when he picks and pops at 15-20 feet, he is not the spacer he can be if that shot were set back about 3 feet. Plus there's the whole efficiency thing.
Cool vid, but nothing too exciting - they're only showing makes so I was looking for high percentage shots. Nice to see LMA attack the middle against a smaller player.
My goodness, stick figure Will Barton has changed his physique. That's actual muscle on those bones. Will, CJ, TRob, Meyers, Dame, LaMarcus all looking ripped and fit. I love our new training and medical staff! They all deserve Rippys! And so do the guys for taking their health and conditioning so seriously.
What's exciting is that we have a bona fide backup center, a backup PG who will facilitate the offense better and make fewer mistakes, and I do believe (until proven otherwise) that our other backups -- TRob, CJ, Will, Freeland -- are improved over last season. I'm getting juiced.
Seems like Aldridge worked on his offensive game and will be even better on that side of the court but that put-back Kaman had at the beginning of the Video showed exactly why the biggest hole in our game plan is Lamarcus' defense and that hasn't changed. I wish Wes could improve at taking the ball to the basket. I think that could solve another big weakness. If he is able to go inside and finish in traffic our starting five will be almost flawless offensively.
