Yup - that is it! lol
Let me ask you a simple question - did you see Tex' 2nd half stats in post 17?
    Never mind - here they are: BA .182 OBP.276 SLG%.307 OPS.583 lmao...are you serious?

I thought I offered an alternative (post 17).
Mix and match the 3-4-5 on occasions....many occasions.
Drop Tex to the 6th or 7th spot AND LEAVE HIM THERE until he showed prolonged improvement.
Not only has Tex' numbers deteriorated rapidly before our eyes in the last 2 or so months...he's become an EASY OUT and very easy to pitch to.

I would've preferred Ichiro, Cervelli, Prado, Gardner instead of Tex in the mid order. Prove to me it wouldn't have helped win a few more games. One thing is CERTAIN...you would have more speed.
Cervelli was one of their better hitters this year.
At least McCann WAS hitting the ball hard with his low BA earlier in the season...I swear the guy could've lost more hard hit balls to the shift than any other in the league. But that's another story.

Tell you what - take your pick, ANYONE ELSE from the regular lineup and Ichiro/Cervelli in place of Tex batting 4th or 5th. ANYONE ELSE.
How's that for starters? Easy enough? Try, you can do it...ask '59 for some help... lol
Girardi should've gotten that slug the hell out of there a long time ago.
This isn't some perrenial all-star iconic great slugger type...he owes Tex NOTHING!
And yes, if it did rub him the wrong way- too darn bad.

I understand I cannot prove this would've helped the team win a few more games....
...and I also know "you" cannot prove it wouldn't have. Lets leave it at that.
It's just one of those opinion things that a handful of posters are kicking around. lol

Joe Madden, Billy Martin? Somebody? Helllllllllp.....take Girardi's brain out of the shoebox.

...so in other words, it would not have mattered who played in place of Tex.

...so in other words, you're trying to prove a negative.

So, in other words, you can't grasp the concept of switching around a batting lineup on occasion?

Do me a favor...lets drop this because I can see where you're trying to go.
You've finally understood that I would've preferred if Girardi would've WRITTEN DIFFERENT NAMES (I'm trying to make it easier for you) on occasions in the 3-4-5 spots of the batting order.

This shouldn't be too hard for some to understand. You may disagree...fine. Now go ahead...analyze it.

...nothing to analyze...you want to switch the batting order in no particular way with no particular names...in other words, "this line up sux, I want it changed, but I have no idea how"....brilliant.

So, in other words, you don't believe in shaking up a lineup. Good for you.

    I'm impressed.

Ummm....deep breath...exhale....let me try this once again.

I have already mentioned in post 17 what I would've tried...and I believe I DID SUBMIT A COUPLE OF NAMES to use WHEN THE BATTING ORDER WAS GOING TO BE SHAKEN UP.

And I did say....I would've put just about ANYONE ELSE in place of Tex IN THE 4TH or 5TH spot...NOT REPLACING HIM ON 1b. lol yeesh.
This includes Ichiro, Prado, Cervelli, Headley WHOEVER...just get Tex out of the middle of the lineup and drop him down.. NOT OUT of the lineup. I would've used 3 different players in the 3-4-5 spots on occasions INSTEAD of the usual Tex, McCann and Beltran. <--- those three would be dropped out of the middle of the order ON OCCASIONS.

Now please cut out the bullcrap. Stop trying to play word/mind games with me. Are you serious?

...please show where I have played word games...fact is, I have not.

...Prado and Headley?...seriously...how long have they been with the team?...that's your answer?...and you seriously think substituting a batter with a .733 OPS and another with a .702 OPS who played a handful of 2nd 1/2 games into the meat of the line up was going to make a difference in this team's season?

...and "ON OCCASIONS"?...wtf does that mean?...oh, I get it, you mean after the fact...gotcha.

...I also find it funny that you point to McCann, when you swore that "catching offense" was "not a problem".

...congrats, you've officially achieved cartoon status..

yes 59, i did play this game professionally, and i was a dam good player, got 2 rings to prove just how good i was, i was blessed in many ways, was a SS, which plays an intregral part in the teams success.

i could have played any position on the field, yes thats what an athlete can do! at my age, even now i could still go out there and raise some eyebrows... what does this all mean? obviously nothing to you and several on here cause thats just the way it is. keep thinkin the way u do, cause that's all u no.

...no, I don't believe you did, not for a minute.

...and sadly, from what I remember, the stats you "assumed", showed you to be about a .240 hitter in the bush leagues.

...and oh, the score is still 8-3...even you should be able to grasp that.

I posted something a while ago saying something along the lines of guys like Headley and Prado are good pieces of the puzzle when everyone else is doing their job. The idea that you're going to throw them in the middle of the lineup and it would've been a huge difference this season is just foolish.

don't care what the average was brother, there is more then stats to one's career, there was the RESPECT i got from my peers, nothing can take away what i achieved, had scouts running after me at several invitational tryouts, was named 1 of the best amature SS's in the world after winning a world championship, coach said reason Y we won was we had the best up the middles defense in world , was selected several times in draft,

what is your claim to fame, self proclaimed "problem child" on a mesage board?

Come on Pasta we all know even from the Rangers board that you like to get people riled up. Nothing wrong with it as it gets some passion flowing but don't deny it.

...actually, no, there's not. That's what a career is.

...my claim to fame is irrelevant though I was an above average catcher with an average glove, above average arm and an above average bat.. We had 3 players drafted by the pros off of my team when I was a sophomore...one had a very notable mlb career. (there's that career and stats thing again)
...I dislocated my kneecap and that pretty much ended my "career"...and and guess what?...nobody gives a shit...and rightfully so.
