I'd go with Andrei Kirilenko to start. The Jazz are still hot and rolling without him, not to mention they've done well the past 2 years witho him. I honestly think they should trade him <strike>for boris diaw and leandro barbosa</strike>

The Jazz are based off of defense, and he is argueably the most versatile defender in the NBA. You could argue that the Jazz would have made the playoffs the last two years if he were healthy, so I don't think that he is the most replaceable star.

Suns- Amare StoudemireBulls- Ben WallaceI think those two teams would do fine if either Amare or Wallace went down with an injury.

How have they been lately? Not half as scary. I think you are vastly underrating Big Ben. Not only his rebounding, but his defensive ability, leadership, heart, hustle, the intimidation factor. I mean, IMO that's irreplaceable. Sure, if Ben was injured for season, P.J. Brown would come in and play solid, but the indimidation factor is not there, you lose a face-of-the-franchise type of player, etc. I don't think Ben is replaceable. Also, yes Phoenix would still win 55-60 games without Amare like they did last year, but they would never get past the Western Conference Finals. Amare makes them a championship cailber team. When Amare is healthy, not many players can do what he does.

I'm sure they would still be just as good if not better than last year without Wallace. Don't forget they put up a fight to the champs in the playoffs last season.

Michael Redd and Carmelo Anthony. Almost all they do for their teams is score, that can be replaced in this league. I understand that not anybody can just come in and fill the scoring void, but it would be easier to replace than an all-around player.

Carmelo is leading the league in ppg, bud. Without Carmelo, the Nuggets would be one of the worst teams in the Legue. Melo is a very crafty offensive player, and they would suck without him.

I realize that he is scoring a shitload, I'm just saying that what he does on the court can also be done by alot of players. not as well as him, but there are plenty of guys in the league that can score. besides, this is replaceable players, hence them being REPLACED by someone, not just getting injured.

He is the only person we rely on for consistent offense. When he has it going the entire team has it going. When he has an off night, the entire team has an off night.Melo is the only consistent player on our team, We would no longer have a #1 scoring option. In the two games Melo missed last season we lost by double digits points against non playoff teams (Seattle and Golden State)I expected better from you Dogma :beee:<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I realize that he is scoring a shitload, I'm just saying that what he does on the court can also be done by alot of players. not as well as him, but there are plenty of guys in the league that can score. besides, this is replaceable players, hence them being REPLACED by someone, not just getting injured.</div>Just saw this, I get what you're saying.

Youre not realizing that he does more than scoring. He is a great driver, he has good underrated court vision, he can get to the line, shoot, hell, even post up. He does a ton for that offense, and without him, the Nuggets would be a bottom 5 team in the League atleast.

He's FAR from even remotely being a playmaker. and that other stuff, about him driving, posting up.. that's way's for him to score! He doesn't do much besides score at all.and honestly people, do you know how many players we can say that for? "If ______________ went down, the ________s would be near the bottom of the league". SOO many players with decent to bad teams. this REPLACING a star, not just taking him out of the equation. Someone else could fill Carmelo's role. I know they wouldn't be as successful, but it's not as hard to replace a scorer as it is to replace an all-around guy like LeBron or whomever. Do you get what I'm saying?

Well, how is 32 ppg replaceable? Scoring that much, on an efficient clip is very impressive, and it helps out the team a ton. Why do you think their offense is so great this year? Melo is scoring the ball a ton, and when he gets doubled, it allows for the offense to flow even more because other guys will have open looks.

Maybe this year (4-0 and counting) but last year they were 3-10 without him. That's an abysmal 23% winning percentage. Most replaceable? I think that's tough to figure out, because a player's impact is often not told by the stats alone. A player may just score, but what about leadership? What about mental toughness? There are other factors.

No matter how good a passer someone is, a double team will almost always disrupt the flow of the offense. That's what they're meant to do.

If you get any average joe in there, the Nuggets would be bottom in the league in ppg. Melo does everything for their offense. Melo can find the open man, who can then either sink an open jumper, or drive, and get fouled, or make a layup if the Center is slow on help defense..

He scores a lot, but he doesn't do everything. Andre Miller is avering 9 apg, so that tells you that he's making plays for Carmelo and everyone else. The offense is pretty dependant on Carmelo, but it doesn't revolve around him. He's a finisher, not a playmaker. Melo has never ever ever been known as a playmaker! He couldn't do sh*t when the Clippers doubled him in the playoffs, and that's not the only time.

If I am understanding what the topic is about, I would go with Larry Hughes of the Cavaliers. Why? The Cavaliers brought him in to help James get over the hump and into the playoffs, they are paying him good money too. Hughes broke his finger in the preseason of the first season with the Cavaliers. He then plays a bunch of games with the finger broke. He can't take it anymore (and wasn't playing to good) and he gets an X-Ray. He then sits the bench and ends up only playing 36 games for the Cavaliers. The Cavaliers still get to the playoffs even without Hughes, so the reason he was brought in was done without him. The Cavaliers brought in Flip Murray who basically replaced Hughes for that season. This season, he is again hurt.Hopefully he is healthy the rest of the season and the Cavs make it far in the playoffs.

The term star is hard to define. I guess I could say Richard Hamilton, if Tayshaun and Flip Murray increase their scoring. Jason Richardson- Monta Ellis and Mikeal Pietrius can fill in for him. He hasn't been that great this year anyway.Vince Carter could also be a replacable star....he might have to if he walks after this season. RJ and Nenad score a ton, and Eddie House and Antoine Wright are on the bench to fill in.
