    Penn State's postseason ban over

Penn State will be eligible for the postseason this year and will have all its scholarships returned next year, after the NCAA agreed Monday afternoon to again reduce sanctions stemming from the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal.

Penn State's athletics integrity monitor, former Sen. George Mitchell, recommended both actions in his second annual report that gauges progress made by the university. Minutes after the report was announced, the NCAA said it would follow both recommendations immediately.

    OSU letting Noah Spence practice

Ohio State Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer is standing behind indefinitely suspended defensive end Noah Spence, and that includes allowing him to remain with the team while the junior awaits word on his status moving forward.

Meyer confirmed Wednesday night that the All-Big Ten performer was still practicing with the Buckeyes, though nothing has changed in terms of his ineligibility for games after failing a second drug test last week just as he was due to return from a three-game suspension for his first positive test.

"Yeah, he actually practiced today," Meyer said. "He's doing things to get healthy, but he's also -- you know, we're supporting him."

Connor Cook, No. 11 Michigan State dominate Eastern Michigan

Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio's team chased a championship and caught it last season. Now, the Spartans are pursuing something more elusive.

"You're always chasing perfection," Dantonio said after the No. 11 Spartans scored the program's third-most points since 1931, smashing Eastern Michigan 73-14 on Saturday.

Indiana upsets No. 18 Missouri on D'Angelo Roberts' late TD run

After losing at Bowling Green last week, Indiana coach Kevin Wilson wanted his team to "play with our hair on fire" against Missouri on Saturday.

Whatever message Wilson was trying to send, the Hoosiers got it.

D'Angelo Roberts scored on a 3-yard touchdown run with 22 seconds remaining and Nate Sudfeld passed for 252 yards and a touchdown to help the Hoosiers upset the 18th-ranked Tigers 31-27.

No. 19 Wisconsin rushes for Big Ten-record 644 yards in lopsided win

After Melvin Gordon fumbled on his first carry, teammate Corey Clement gave him a fist bump on the sideline and told his fellow Wisconsin running back to shake off the mistake.

It turned out to be the start of record-setting day for the 19th-ranked Badgers.

Gordon rushed for career highs of 253 yards and five touchdowns, and Wisconsin ran for a Big Ten-record 644 yards to trample Bowling Green in a 68-17 victory Saturday.

    Brady Hoke staying the course

Michigan coach Brady Hoke said he isn't feeling the heat as questions arise about the future of the program or his role in shaping it after another disappointing loss this weekend, adding that the outside discussion about where the Wolverines are headed won't change the way he makes decisions moving forward.

Michigan State's record-setting offense didn't score 73 points again, but it looked like it might in its final Big Ten tuneup on Saturday.

Melvin Gordon leads No. 19 Wisconsin past South Florida

Melvin Gordon decided to speak up with Wisconsin off to another lackluster start.

The Badgers' star tailback couldn't take it anymore while jogging back to the locker room with his team tied at 3 at the half with South Florida.

His teammates listened. The blocking picked up to help spring Gordon for two touchdown runs that helped No. 19 Wisconsin hold off the Bulls 27-10 on Saturday.

Ameer Abdullah rushes for 208 yards as No. 21 Huskers run by Illini

Nebraska's marching band spelled out "Fear Ameer" at midfield to highlight its halftime show.

That warning came a little late for Illinois on Saturday night.

By then, Ameer Abdullah already had run for 196 of his 208 yards in the 21st-ranked Cornhuskers' 45-14 victory.

    Meyer commits to Braxton Miller

No matter how well freshman J.T. Barrett performs this season, Ohio State coach Urban Meyer made it perfectly clear Monday that Braxton Miller will be his starting quarterback in 2015.

"Braxton is our quarterback," Meyer told reporters. "To be fair to Braxton, Big Ten Player of the Year. But it's good to know we've got both of them."

    Iowa going to 2-QB rotation

Iowa offensive coordinator Greg Davis says the Hawkeyes are switching to a two-quarterback system.

Davis says junior Jake Rudock and sophomore C.J. Beathard have both earned the right to play. Davis says there won't be a set number of snaps for each quarterback, adding that playing time will be decided by "feel."

Godwin Igwebuike's 3 INTs help Northwestern upend No. 17 Wisconsin

Playing in wet and windy conditions, Northwestern was close to perfect. Godwin Igwebuike stepped up on defense, and Justin Jackson gobbled up the yards on the ground.

That slow start for the Wildcats seems like a long time ago.

Igwebuike had three interceptions and Jackson rushed for 162 yards, helping resurgent Northwestern upset Melvin Gordon and No. 17 Wisconsin 20-14 on Saturday.

J.T. Barrett, No. 20 Ohio State spoil Maryland's Big Ten home debut

Thanks to a little experience and a spot of tea, J.T. Barrett slept better on his second trip to the state of Maryland as Ohio State's starting quarterback.

    And it showed.

About a month ago, Barrett was a bundle of nerves prepping for Navy after Braxton Miller was lost for the year after shoulder surgery. He did OK, but he was what he was -- a redshirt freshman making his collegiate debut for a marquee program.

On Saturday, he returned and spoiled Maryland's first home game as a member of the Big Ten, throwing for 267 yards with four touchdowns and running for 71 and a score in the No. 20 Buckeyes' 52-24 win.

RB Derrick Green out for season

Michigan running back Derrick Green will miss the rest of the 2014 season with a broken clavicle, coach Brady Hoke said Monday.

Green, the team's leading rusher through six games, hurt his shoulder during a fourth-quarter run in a 26-24 loss to Rutgers on Saturday night. His absence is another blow to a Michigan offense that has struggled throughout a 2-4 start to the season.

"Derrick's attitude is very good," Hoke said. "He knows it's an expectation of him to help coach those young guys and coach guys being integral in what we're trying to get done. We're going to miss him."

Green started all six games for the Wolverines and steadily emerged as a feature back throughout September. The sophomore and former five-star prospect had 471 yards and three touchdowns on 82 carries prior to his injury.
