<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>With all due respect to Chris Webber and his fine NBA career, I find it hilarious that he reportedly wants the Sixers to trade him. If indeed Webber asked Sixers President Billy King to move him, I have a hard time believing King didn't bust out laughing right in C-Webb's face. I'm sure King would love to send C-Webb and the $43 million left on his contract packing. Webber is upset because he's been benched for the fourth quarter in three of the Sixers' seven games. Well, maybe if he was hitting more than 37 percent of his shots, he'd get off the pine in crunch time. This is really not Webber's fault. It's just another sad example of the damage microfracture knee surgery can do to one's career (witness Jamal Mashburn, Allan Houston and Penny Hardaway). We all know that if the 33-year-old Webber hadn't been injured, he'd be ripping the East apart, but now he's a painfully gimpy 10-point, 8-rebound role player. Even last year, when C-Webb posted 20 points and 9.9 boards a game, it was weak and misleading. To his credit, Webber's skilled and crafty enough to score and snag rebounds despite being robbed of his athleticism, but with his inability to move, he was well beyond a liability on the defensive end. Besides the absurdity of the trade request, it doesn't make Webber look good that he's unhappy and itching to go when the 4-3 Sixers are playing their best ball since Jim O'Brien departed. I know that's not saying much, but hey, it's true. Let's see, what other impossible-to-move "stars'' could ask for a trade and send their GM's on a delightful trip to Fantasy Island: ? What type of dance do you think Isiah Thomas would do if Stephon Marbury knocked on his front door (they're neighbors after all) and asked to be moved? ? Probably the same one he'd do if Steve Francis showed up with his luggage. ? For all the hate they spewed at each other last season, I'm sure George Karl would plant a huge one on Kenyon Martin's kisser if he asked the coach to deal him. ? It's too soon to go there with Big Ben and the Bulls, but if this continues? Of course, I think there might be some takers for Ben, maybe even his sputtering former club.</div>
