Canzano: Trail Blazers should put Bill Schonely back on the mic

I think the monster of the 20% discount is being realized. I do not think any other team does it and it is a huge benefit right now. They are also recognizing alot of season ticket holders individually at games. When the team is trying to sell Darius Miles, you have to do those things to keep season ticket holders. Now, I do not see many people leaving the team because they did not get cheap swag.

 

Yeah I didn't want to say it but Schonz lost his edge for play by play a long time ago. It's a hard job in general and impossible to replicate the Schonely we loved as kids. Let the guy enjoy the games, his well deserved retirement, and his ambassador role. And let the fans remember him from his glory days.

I do think it would be great to have him on the public address mike and let him lead the home crowd in each, or most, home games doing a

"lets all stand to your feet and do the Rip City cry together. Maybe address the crowd and if his mind is going a little they can have it taped or something. It would bring excitement to the arena I would think. Just my 2 cents worth.
