Emeka is playing incredible right now (the best PF in the East right now, bar none). Perk needs to play tough and SMART (don't get into early foul trouble). CelticBalla's Extra Thoughts/Notes I'm looking forward to seeing Shaq... I mean Okafor lol, and Morrison. CelticBalla's Prediction We CAN win this game. Is 4 straight too good to be true with this team?
F*ck me. We lost to the Bobcats. I had a feeling 4 straight wins was too good to be true. We shot the ball TERRIBLY tonight, we turned the ball over way too much, we played ZERO perimeter defense, and we took/missed waaay too many 3's. Friggen terrible game. Doc: In crunch time, he takes out Gomes and puts in Tony Allen (with Pierce, Wally, Perk, and Telfair). OK... I don't understand that sub, but hey it gets worse. Then he takes out Perk and puts Gomes back in. Gomes, Pierce, Wally, Allen, Telfair. Scal gets 14 minutes, Powe gets 20 seconds? F*ck you Nurse Rivers. Paul Pierce 28 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals on 8-20 shooting Pierce was up and down. He did not shoot the ball we AT ALL, he had 2-3 terrible turnovers, he missed too many open shots. He got to the line and crashed the boards, and he made a few nice passes. But not a great night from The Truth. Wally Szczerbiak 7 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal on 3-13 shooting This is the worst game by Wally Szczerbiak I have ever seen him play (Wolves days included). Not only did he shoot the ball terribly, but he played THE WORST defense ever. Gerald Green easily outplayed Wally defensively tonight. Wally got murdered by not only Adam Morrison, but Matt Carroll too. Friggen terrible game from Wally. Morrison scored 26 tonight, Wally was guarding him for most of them. Ryan Gomes 12 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists on 5-9 shooting Gomes had a great first quarter (he was the only one doing anything to begin the game), but then he kind of fell off. He wasn't much of a factor in the 2nd half. Kendrick Perkins 5 points, 8 rebounds, and only 1 foul Perk did a good job quarding Okafor, and he stayed out of foul trouble. The thing is, he should have been a little more aggressive defensively. Sebastian Telfair 7 points, 7 assists, 2 steals, 1 block on 3-10 shooting (1-5 from 3), 4 turnovers Bassy didn't have a good game either. He took way too many jumpers, he didn't drive. He made some nice kickouts, but the defense was up and down. He had some very good defensive plays, then he had really bad ones. Al Jefferson 6 points, 8 rebounds on 3-5 shooting with 5 turnovers and 4 fouls (19 minutes) Welcome back, Big Al! Al was awesome on the glass, especially on the offensive end, and he made some nice moves on the block. But he traveled 3 times and got 5 turnovers total. He looked a little bit tired at the end of the game, but that's expected after an early comeback from an appendectomy. Rajon Rondo 6 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, no turnovers in 16 minutes Rondo played well tonight. I thought, as usual, he should have played a little more in the 4th quarter. But he made a few terrific hustle plays, he penetrated, played smart and didn't force anything, didn't commit any turnovers, and his defense was solid. Tony Allen 7 points, 2 rebounds, 4 fouls in 15 minutes TA played pretty well, I thought. He penetrated without dribbling off his foot, he took it strong, and he ran hard. Not bad tonight for TA. Gerald Green 3 points, 2 rebounds, 1 block on 1-3 shooting in 13 minutes Gerald played pretty solid, IMO. He had 1 bad turnover, but the other 2 turnovers that show up on the stat sheet were not his fault (one was a charge when the defender was CLEARLY in the circle). Defensively, he did a good job on Morrison, actually. 10 times better than Wally did on him. I thought Gerald played well tonight, and I thought he should have gotten a couple more minutes with D-West out. Brian Scalabrine 2 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 1 block, 1 steal on 1-4 shooting in 14 minutes Scal made some hustle plays, but he didn't shoot well and his defense was nothing to write home about. Leon Powe, Allan Ray 19.7 seconds of playing time each. Morrison played excellent ball tonight, props to the rook. This kid is going to be a big time scorer. 4-7, yay. Next Game Friday (11/25/06) at 7:30 pm at home vs. New York.
