I'm right there with you. I was pissed at Nate for not bringing him off the bench when we got Dré.

Meh, how often is he gonna get doubleteamed? Steve Blake does not warrant a double team. Any coach who does that should be fired on the spot. :dunno:

Let's settle down a bit, it has only been 3 preseason games. Glad he's back and all but I'm surprised how quickly some are to forgive, praise or condemn.

I'm all for building momentum going into the regular season! I've been calm all summer and after the game yesterday, I'm pumped up. The depth on the bench is paying off whether you praise, forgive or whatever. CJ proved me wrong. He's a better defender. Crabbe played good defense. Joel played solid defense. Kaman and Blake were game changers. How could you not feel great today?

Blanky is the backup PG to a guy who recently led the league in minutes. His job is to defend backup point guards, get our other backup players involved in the offense, and hit the occassional open shot. Perfect fit.

I've never seen such optimism for a team that's 1-2 in the PREseason, but I'll take it.

As for Steve Blake, let the lovefest commence, I like him! Buttttttttt, if he's our 2nd PG in the middle of 2015-16 these boards will turn on him hard. He's a temporary solution, unless CJ learns this year to give some backup PG minutes in addition to his regular backup SG minutes.

When we first signed Blake I was disappointed. The next day the idea started making sense to me. I think Blake will play another 4 years or so but I think he's got 2-3 years before he becomes Earl Watson. He's fit, his minutes will decrease year by year until he retires. I think he'll stick longer than Mo and might even retire here. Doubt he'll be the 2nd pt guard 3 years from now.

It's ok meese, I know you never got the Lillard for Conley trade you truly wanted but Blake is solid off the bench.

I hated Steve Blake until I realized that it was Coach Nate that was to blame for putting him in a shitty situation.

But then again, you wanted Conley for Lillard so....

Hmmm, but Kaman was a bail-out move after his #1 target (Hawes) went elsewhere. It's a little concerning that Olshey's Plan B was better than his Plan A.
With that said, I do think Olshey has done a good job. But let's not go all "Pritchard" with him and make him out to be something he isn't - he's made errors.

I agree Kaman over Hawes is better for our needs. Besides, we've already got a less expensive Hawes. His name is Leonard.

I hope Brooklyn cuts Blake and we bring him back to our team (but as an assistant coach). Blake never sold his home here. He will retire here.

I feel for the guy, but maybe this is a sign that he needs to hang em up.
