    Yep, no doubt Lou was as Great a player as ever will be....I too see how Lou too often gets left out of the mix, and its not fair at all....Gehrig was a GIANT amongst men, and had a better work ethic, than :Cobb, or Ruth...said isn't it.


    and Yep- blgrides, I'm sure we can see eye to eye on other issues, I am open minded perhaps a bit more than I let on at times. Tom often opens my eyes, if you noticed. I never want to be a Grumpy Old Man, like Tote mentioned....

    I have the heart of a 21 year old, and yet have no tolerance for ignorance on any level at any age. Perhaps that makes me Grumpy? I don't think so tho'....just my opinion.

    And no, I have no axe to grind with you or any one else on these boards, well maybe now and then...:lol:

    For a career that was cut short at only 35 the man put up some incredible numbers. Would have easily had over 600 HRs & 3000 hits had he never been struck with that life ending illness. He would have also IMO led all of baseball in career runs & RBI.
