http://childrensmiraclenetworkhospitals.org/Content/LegalDocs/Annual_Report_13.pdf This link should help give you some of the info you are looking for. All donations will go directly to Dornbechers since that is the hospital I have chosen out of the network to represent. The gaming event itself is a massive community endurance event, while playing video games is certainly not labor intensive outside of a few motion controlled games, playing for a consistent 24 hour period certainly is taxing. However, the video gaming is nothing more than a prop, just like the ice bucket challenge, it is designed to spread word of mouth engage a passionate community and generate some money from people who support the cause. You are not paying me or anyone else to play video games, you are donating to help aid research, provide care and potentially save a sick child's life.
Since most of you seem not care about the event or dislike me I am offering the following: At $100 in donations I will do an Ask Me Anything or accept a 72 hour ban At $200 I will download and play Kim Kardashian: Hollywood for 4 hours straight or accept a week ban At $500 I will download and play Kim Kardashian: Hollywood for 4 hours straight and I will find Hannah Montana for PS3 and play that for 4 hours all while watching Glitter, Crossroads, and the 2 Baby Geniuses Movies or accept a one month ban At $2500 I will do every under $500 and go out and buy an Atari with a copy of ET and play that for 4 hours and I will find a copy of Custers Revenge and play that for 4 hours or take a 1 year ban At $5000 I will do all of $2500 and $500 plus play 8 hours more of any games of the communities choosing and watch the five worst movies ever according to IMDB while listening to Gangnam Style on 24 hour repeat or take a perma ban.
So for the low low price of $4935 you can make me have the worst possible day ever that does not involve dying, getting horribly injured or finding out you have aids or ebola.
It's not that people dislike you, it's that people don't really know you. Also many members have to ask their parents for money and as soon as they hear, "and he'll be playing video games..." they immediately tune out and say no.
The problem is there is a bunch of cheap-o-s on here. $5? 10? You can't buy shit for that. C'mon guys, stick a crowbar in your wallet. C'mon jlprk, I give you permission to sell some of our stash.
