But the topic says All NBA current team, so I figure that it's for whoever is currently playing.</div>yeah its for the guys playing but if you like Odgen so much as the forward/center then you could put an older guy an the current team and draft Oden(figuratively speaking)

I'd rather have Bosh than Okafor. But, come to think of it, Wade and LBJ will do all my scoring, so I should be more focused on defense and rebounding.....

I'm surprised you haven't figured that out.

Guys, I know Oden has the potential to be David Robinson 2.0, but as of right now you would select him? He hasn't even play an NCAA game yet, let alone in the NBA.

I would pick Stoudamire over any prospect just because there have been guys how are supposed to be amazing and blow a tire in the NBA and just die, Stoudamire has produced in the NBA. The day Oden produces in the NBA is the day I would put him on my team.

PG- Chris Paul (what he did for the Hornets in his rookie season and what he is doing now, hard not to pick him).SG- Wade (don't even need to say why)SF- LeBron James (30/7/7 seemingly at will a night and 21 years old? Sounds like a deal.)PF- Dwight Howard (20/20 is pretty nice.)C- Amare (when a 100%, I like speed and power in my lineup. He rebuonds and boxes out, I love my big men to do that.)I think this is the best way to start a new franchise, assuming you could lock these guys up for awhile. I can get vets on my bench. I don't need them in my starting lineup.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Nitro1118 @ Nov 23 2006, 10:20 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>He's not, but it's coming back, and his few 20pt games, dunks, and 360 layup are proof.Amare is a good rebounder, good defender (not great), but I disagree that he doesn't have a great postgame. You can't pour 37PPG on TIM DUNCAN and not be doing something right in the post.Again, you say he is such a great _____ and ______, but he has never played a minute in ball higher than the HS level. It is easy to be a great defender and rebounder when you are facing HS's and you are 7ft+. Amare 2 years ago was arguably the best big man in the game, and a lot of people are forgetting that. He didn't just do it on the fastbreak, either. He played well with Nash, without Nash, on one on one post ups, etc... He has an unstoppable spin move, nice little hook shot, can jump over anyone, and when all else fails he can get ball at around 15ft and drive it in. Even though he is not at 100% yet and still rusty, he has shown he still can drop over 20 purely off of his athleticism, spin moves and driving ability. Oden hasn't played at all on even the college level yet, so I am not sold there.</div>Amare has yet to average over 10 rpg in a season. Look at how many shots the Suns miss, and look at how much time he gets. He is not a good rebounder. His best rebounding season was 9.1. He is not a good defender either.. His post game is basically just using his athleticism. It is mostly face to the basket stuff, and his post game is not developed at all. If the Suns played half court, then he wouldnt be able to do the same things/He wouldnt be listed as the definate #1 pick when he has yet to play a minute of college ball if he wasnt a great prospect. He is obviously going to be realyl good. Ive read his file on nbadraft.net, and his defense is great, he is athletic, strong, great rebounder, defender, his offense is excellent, and his post game is improving rapidly.Pfft. Amare has never been better than the likes of Tim Duncan, KG, Dirk Nowitzki, etc..He was very good 2 years ago. But alot of that had to do with the Suns offensive system. Without Nash engineering that offense, he would have never done so well, and you know it too. The offense, and Nash had a lot to do with Amare's success. It was able to use Amare's athletic ability, and raw talent to it's maximum flexibility.

That means long rebounds, and less oppertunities for Amare to get a ton of rebounds. He;s not a good defender? I disagree. His post game is not developed at all? Again, disagree BIG time. He is far more devloped than, say, Dwight Howard. He has a fantastic spin move, nice little jump hook, he has developed a fadeaway jumpshot this year, and of course he can just muscle his way under basket and get it in with his athleticism. And again, highly disagree that he wouldn't be able to do the same things in any other offense. He showed without Steve Nash he could put up numbers, he showed in post that he could embaress one of the best defenders in league (Duncan), etc... Amare was also a great prospect out of HS, and if it wasn't for him jumping HS's a few times he would have been a top 3 pick or so in the 2002 draft. Just being a great prospect out of HS means nothing. Look at Tyson Chandler, Kwame, etc...Yes, the Suns offense showcased Amare's abilities, but most of his baskets came in the post or off pick and rolls (something he also did well before Nash came to town). In 04-05 he developed a great midrange jumpshot, became a lot more refined in post, became more agressive, etc... As I said before, you don't put up 37PPG against one of the best defensive teams in league that slowed down the Suns, and on one of the best defensive big men in league just because you run a high octane offense. Ecen before he had Nash he was running the break, finishing off alley oops, etc... No reason at all to take away from him because of those abilities. It just makes him that more dangerous.PS- Just did some research. In 32 games, excluding 3 games in which he came back/left due to injury, Amare averaged 24PPG once Marbury left the Suns in 2003-2004. Only 4 of those 32 games did he score less than 20pts. I don't wanna hear the Nash/high tempo offense excuse for his growth and play.

You can't look at age to tell the difference, you have to look at amount of time in the league, and Bryant is a lengthy veteran in that respect. Anyone that has been in the league for 10 years, will know alot more about the little things in the league, than someone that has been in for just 4.
