I wouldnt be too shocked if we pay big contracts to both Wes/Lopez this summer if we make a big splash in the playoffs or end with a top 2 record.
Whatever we do a lot will be decided by how they figure the cap is going to go up due to the new TV contracts.

I think we're waiting to see how CJ and Will do this season, because there's a good chance Wes isn't back on the team next year. We need to find out if CJ or Will can take his spot. If we could get Gasol, it would be worth losing Wes and Rolo.

Gasol would be a home run. I cant see him leaving Memphis though

Yes, Hibbert is a more realistic option.

I've already read that both Boston and NY are going to be targeting Marc Gasol (who I've also seen described as the "top free agent" of next Summer). I think Phil and the lure of the triangle can trump anything we can offer. I think we should give up on Gasol.

But we can offer him being a part of the LaMarcGasolDridge frontcourt. Who could say no to that?

But that team blows. Why would he leave a playoff team for a shitty team featuring melo?

I agree. The list of suitors is very long. I know the Laker radio station talks about him all the time. If he has another strong year he will be getting a lot of money and attention. I just don't think it is wise to disrespect Robin while we are courting someone we probably won't get. I doubt Gasol signs early with anyone, so to put everything else on hold until he decides may be too risky.

Of course, we can get Victor, Sergio and Rudy to talk to Gasol about how great it is for Spaniards in Portland...

Thoughts on Dallas....Monta Ellis is their whole offense. A few of us wanted him when he was a free agent. (most did not) And although I think Neil ended up getting better pieces.....damn that guy is hard to stop. Dallas better hope he stays healthy.

Memphis is burgeoning multi-cultural metropolis, right?

N.O 's box score is insane. Davis' line of 26 points, 17 rebounds, 3 steals, 9 blocks and no turnovers is crazy.
Throw in another 17 boards for Asik while shooting 7-10 and getting 5 blocks and I would say their front court had a good start to their season.
On the other hand, Orlando could just be that bad.......

    Houston is hilarious horrible.

    They got nothing for Asik.

    They got nothing for Lin.

    They got nothing for Parsons.

The myth of Daryl Morey is pretty much finished.

Re: "OFFICIAL" Around the NBA season Thread

I know as I was watching the game I kept thinking "how bad are the Lakers to be getting killed by this team"?
But Jones and Ariza played pretty well and keeping Harden off the line seems impossible. Houston will be OK.

I keep thinking about how stupid/cheap OKC was in letting the bearded one go.

Re: "OFFICIAL" Around the NBA season Thread

Yeah, OKC is even worse. They didn't get squat for Harden, and we all knew it was a horrible trade at the time. It's not like a Pau Gasol trade, which we all thought was horrible and actually became good because of Marc Gasol.

That ain't happening for OKC. Kevin Martin is gone. Jeremy Lamb is a bust. They dealt the hands down best shooting guard in the league, JUST coming into his own, for squat. They didn't get squat. Beyond horrible. They should have dealt Westbrook. Better name, better value, and redundant because of Reggie Jackson.

There were a lot of rebounds to be had in that game, the Magic missed about 60 jumpshots and the Pelicans missed a lot as well. Vucevic had 24 rebounds for Orlando

I think both Hibbert and Gasol should be excited by a chance to be added to the Blazers core, as opposed to going to some team like the Knicks. And I don't think I'm being a homer when I say that. Insanely rich basketball players with drive want to win. If Gasol comes to Portland he's got as good a chance for a ring as anywhere, and better than most.

If Kobe came to Oregon all of those L%ker douchebags that live up here would trade in their Kobe L#ker jerseys for Blazer ones. You don't want them wearing Blazer jerseys, do you?

If you got to Realgm.com they have a poll up on who will win the championship this year and we are the only team in the west who made the playoffs not to be listed on it.
