Which player has had the better season so far? Both are putting up amazing scoring-assist numbers while leading their teams to good records.

Deron Williams has shot up a lot this season. During the draft I didn't like him but near the end I realized how stupid I was at underestimating him. He's not extremely quick or amazingly athletic but he gets the job done. I think that Chris Paul is and will be the better player but Williams has it easier playing with three solid bigs. Chris Paul will always be better but Deron will always be right behind him.

Like BCB said, Deron surprised me this year. I knew he was a solid player but he really improved. When they played Boston he was just hitting everything. Threes, mid-rangers, fade-aways, floaters in the lane. He really sees the floor well and knows how to spread the ball around and find the open man. That being said, CP3 is the more complete player. He's more versaitle on offense, quicker, better rebounder, much more sneake, and better defense. He is so lethal off of that high pick, teams are having so much trouble stopping him. I'd take CP3 every day of the week, but if I got stuck with Deron Williams it wouldn't be the worst thing either.

I, like yankshater would take Paul over Williams everytime. I think most people would as well. What I think is a better comparison of point guards in that draft would be Williams and Felton. Now to me, that is an intriguing comparison. Both play pretty well, but will in my opinion, be 2nd tier to Paul. Out of Felton and Williams, I think they are more dead even. Course Williams is on the better team, but who's to say that Felton wouldnt be putting up the same numbers as Deron? I think each of the 3 are in perfect situations for their style of game. Williams is more of a pure point that can play under Sloan very nicely. I dont think Williams has that star quality in him to become a team leader but thats okay since he has a veteran team.Paul is often compared to Isiah Thomas in his style. Paul has that star quality in him like Thomas did. On Felton, he's more a free will point in my opinion. Better scorer than Paul and Williams I think. I rank them as so.PaulWilliams FeltonI'd say the gap between Williams and Felton is much smaller than the gap between Williams and Paul.

I like how you put it BCB. That even though Deron Williams is great, and has improved a great deal, he will always be just a little bit behind Paul. I look at it this way....Deron Williams is a better shooter, CP3 is better at getting to the basket. Both are good passers and I will call it a push on that. Then you go to the defensive end...Chris Paul is a hell of a defender. Deron Williams is a good defender as well but I would give the edge to CP3 on this one. But one thing that I would like to point out to you is that they put up similar APG yet Williams has more to work with. Also, Deron Williams gets more open looks because of how talented his team is. Chris Paul IS the leader of his team and is leading them to a great record. Deron Williams is the 3rd or 4th best player on his team and they are being led by Carlos Boozer. Those are just a couple things that I wanted to point out.

Paul, I just think what he is doing with the NO is amazing he is single handelingy making this team win. He is playing great on every side of the ball and so far he is playing much better. But that doesn't take away the great season that Deron WIlliams has had so far.

Talent wise its Paul, but for who is playing better this season its Deron Williams. Paul may be helping the Hornets win a few games, Deron Williams has been the catalyst behind the Jazz complete dominance and their 12-1 record.

Give me Chris Paul. He's the better passer, defender, AND scorer. To be honest, I think Deron just got off to a hot start, and I think he'll settle down.Paul on the other hand might even maintain his numbers of 18 and 9. He's just that good of a pg.

I have to go with CP3 simply because he plays better basketball than Deron. In other words, I'd rather watch CP3 play than Deron because even if CP3 knows he can make a wide open shot, he'll pass the ball to a teammate who is also wide open just to be able to score easily. A PG is pass-first, score-second. Deron does that, too, but I don't know... I guess I'm just amazed by CP3's potential. He went from the draft straight to the Rookie MVP award and then to the Men's United States basketball team. CP3 is simply amazing.
