You know the drill: Bassy playing against his cousin, he always plays well. Oh, and Marbury? He's one of the most talented guards in the league. CelticBalla's Extra Thoughts/Notes We had a 3 game winning streak, then Charlotte screwed it up for us on Wednesday beating us by 9. But the C's have a chance to win the next 2-3 games, I suggest we do that. As of right now, we are tied with Philly for 2nd place in the Atlantic Division. If we want to hold on to that, we have to win games like this. CelticBalla's Prediction I think we are going to take this one too. I think Wally is going to bounce back from his terrible game Wednesday, and I think Big Al will be productive off the bench. Bassy should also have a solid game (for one, it's vs. his cousin, and two - he had a bad game Wednesday as well). I say the Celtics win this one at home. EDIT: I just heard that the Knicks will be going back to their old Marbury/Francis combo to start the game. Jesus christ, the situation over there is F*cked.
this is Isiah Thomas of course he will.... But I hope we can pull one out of the hat and I really wish Nate Dawg would start he is the pulse of the team.
Good news guys, I was watching Celtics Tonight on FSN, and Delonte was in uniform warming up. Greg Dickerson said he would be playing tonight. THANK YOU!
Ugly game so far. Seems like neither team wants to take it over. Neither team is really playing great, someones gotta step it up at some point soon."This is not good"-Tommy HeinsonThe Knicks are absolutely trashing us with their 2-3 zone. Celtics need to get to the bucket but instead they keep heaving up threes, which is reminding me of the Antoine Walker era. They really need their act together tonight if they even want to make it a game.
Wow, I honestly don't think I've seen them play much worse than that in a long time. They couldn't score a bucket at all, and I swear they didn't score more than 30 in the second half, I'll have to check that. The Knicks did play very well, but the Celts were unable to adapt to the defensive change the Knicks threw at them, and the Knicks played it very well.
Aaaaaaaand there goes another one. We shot the ball terribly, took terrible shots, settled for WAY too many three's, we got trashed on the boards, commited way too many STUPID turnovers (eh hem.. traveling. eh hem Paul Pierce). We were not aggressive. The Knicks took 39 free throws, we took 18. Terrible overall game. There were chants in the fourth quarter that you could hear loud and clear: "Fire Doc! Fire Doc! Fire Doc!" I had to laugh, not my head, and agree. Paul Pierce 12 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists, 6 turnovers on 4-10 shooting (1-6 from 3) Terrible. Worst game I might have ever seen Paul Pierce play, honestly. He forced everything, he wasn't aggressive, he turned the ball over way too much, he took 10 shots and 6 were three's. Wally Szczerbiak 16 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists on 6-16 shooting (0-4 from 3) Another bad game for Wally. He had good shots, he just bricked them all. Sebastian Telfair 10 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists, 1 steal on 4-9 shooting I thought Sebastian played pretty well. He had a great first quarter, and he was alright throughout the rest of the game. If Wally and Pierce hit their shots, he would have had close to a double-double with points and assists. Ryan Gomes 8 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals on 4-7 shooting Ryan was ok tonight. He hustled in the first half and was basically a no-show in the 2nd. Delonte West 9 points, 2 rebounds on 4-13 shooting Like everyone else, Delonte shot the ball horribly. Not much else I can say, he took some good shots, but like Wally they just weren't falling. Al Jefferson 4 points, 8 rebounds, 1 steal on 1-4 shooting He rebounded well, they didn't get him the ball when he had position. He looked solid tonight. Gerald Green 9 points, 3 rebounds, no turnovers on 3-6 shooting (1-3 from 3) in 21 minutes He looked pretty solid out there. He was active on the glass, he hit some jumpers, took it to the rack very nicely once (but they didnt call the foul and he just missed). I think he was solid out there. Kendrick Perkins 2 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, and 4 fouls in 13 minutes Curry killed him, enough said. Rajon Rondo 3 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist in 14 minutes He got limited minutes because he has the flu, so don't blame Doc for that. He wasn't himself, you could tell he was sick. He is usually VERY vocal, he barely said anything tonight. He wasn't as active, etc. I mean, he's sick. Brian Scalabrine 1 rebound, 3 assists in 14 minutes Scal made a couple solid passes and that one rebound was a nice hustle offensive rebound. He played alright. Leon Powe 4 points, 1 rebound on 1-2 shooting in 10 minutes Most of his minutes were garbage minutes in the 4th, he was aggressive. Tony Allen 2 rebounds and 3 turnovers on 0-2 shooting in 11 minutes We call him TA, we should start calling him TO for turnover. Next Game Tomorrow night @ Milwaukee at 9:00 pm.
How are you going to win a game when your best player only shoots the ball 4 times? Also, Doc had Pierce in at center for a stretch in the first quarter. What the hell is that? I understand the concept of "small ball" but that is ridiculous. You give up over 4 inches and over at least 30 pounds. That is awful coaching...

I never like Doc's lineups, so I don't even really complain about it anymore. I'm just so used to it now.

I just expect it and just shake my head when Doc starts being Doc. I can't wait till we get a coach with half a brain stem.

His favorite thing to do is punch the couch when either the C's are playing like sh*t, or when Doc is being Doc. Its funny to watch sometimes...One thing that I have noticed about the C's is that there offense completley sucks. Their is minimal movement and it ends up with one player going one on one to score. This method is never going to allow a team to win unless they are just on fire. And out of their 4 wins this year, they were on fire in at least 2 of them.
did anyone catch "the man" almost get a triple double. this guy is the man. I can't get enough of him he is so good :worthy: we just outplayed you guys tonight. that 2-3 zone really gave you guys problems. no one could hit a perimeter shot and they just looked lost. no one could get into the paint either. I'm surprised how ineffective paul pierce was tonight. and wow, eddy curry? 21 points 10 boards. I'm not gonna get excited over it because I know he can do that but he's gotta do it consistently. channing frye is playing like he did last season and francis came to play tonight with 22 points and 15-15 from the line. we're 5-0 when we record over 20 assists. the knicks get ball movement they win games, pretty simple.

I never saw it coming it was like at the end of the game it was like the Knicks actually won?

This is also something I give Doc blame for, because he obviously has no offensive plays/sets. Every damn time down the floor it's one of these 4 things: 1. Pierce iso 2. Wally shooting 3. Telfair drive and kick 4. Turnover (this happens most often ) I can't stand it. We need screens, movement, pick and rolls (Telfair/Gomes are great with this, we just never use it), etc. I'd also like to see Al Jefferson get a LOT more post iso's. A LOT more. He is a very good post player, and if they exploited that he could average 13-15 ppg. He doesn't get a lot of touches, and I don't like that.
QUOTE (nykfan4life @ Nov 24 2006, 11:51 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

did anyone catch "the man" almost get a triple double. this guy is the man.
