    ...geez, I hope not.

...McCarthy is going to get a lot of attention from other possible suitors other than the Yanx.

...I'm still hoping the Yanx at least make a run at Lester and/or Scherzer.

I'm okay with McCarthy, Hammel is a career 59-70 pitcher with a career 4.60 ERA who's also played for 5 teams in his 9 seasons & has never won more then 10 games in a season.. He made 6M last year & isn't worth it so no thank you.

Chris Capuano is 36 years old has played for 6 teams in his 10 years & his career marks are 76-87 with a 4.28 ERA so there's another ......HELL NO!

    Cashman....what can I say?

I want to see McCarthy remain in Pinstripes, without breaking a bank, or on a short leash contract, which will never happen.

I too would love to see Lester, Scherzer, and Cole Hamels, not the hammel noted above...

What a thrill it would be to see a couple ace southpaws. Chris Sale would be a great addition, but we all know that is never going to happen either....

Yet, I can only dream, Tanaka, Scherzer, Lester, Hamels, McCarthy, let the others become trade bait, yet I don't want to see those SP's who performed well thru the year, become extinct either. That much may be debatable, as to what to do with Pineda? Will he continue to be a victim of a sore re-built shoulder. What to do with Greene, Phelps, Nuno, Nova, Whitely....??? Some could go to the bullpen, some would have to be traded.....IF a dream comes true which I don't have my hopes up too high, but dreams allow one the freedom to believe one day the Yanx SP will be as deadly as in days of futures past.

I'm still insisting McCarthy should only be offered a 2-year deal max

Rob I understand our need for a lefty but he's locked into the Phillies for the next 4 years totaling $90M plus a $20M option for 2019. I think we have enough of those contracts already on the books.

Yep, I'm aware of Cole's Philly contract. I more or less meant, Cole was available last year, as Philly made it clear, Hamels could be had for the right price and trades....yet no one pursued Cole. Yet again, he was coming off of sore shoulder stiffness, elbow too.

Kinda' like Tulo, I know he's out of the question, yet the Rockies Ownership made it clear last year, Tulo, A-Gon, could also be had for the right price and trades.

Yet we both know Troy will perhaps remain a Rocky for Life, yet I hope no. He'd look much better in Yank Pinstripes instead of Colorado Pinstripes.

I can't help but dream. Next thing ya' know, I'll be rambling on, how Guidry could be given a magical potion to come back and pitch like he was still 27 years old. Cone, Clemens, El Duque, Jimmy Key too, hell lets throw in Rags, and whoever else sounds magical.....

...2 years is the most McCarthy should get...he could just as easily revert back to the pitcher he's been for the previous 2 years. He's had only 2 years out of 9 when his ERA was below 4.00.

    ...he's a #3 - #4 starter.

Honestly I was surprised McCarthy pulled thru with the Yanx, since his first half of 2014 with the D'Backs was horrid, but then so was the D'Back defense and offense as a whole.

    With AZ - 3 Wins 10 Losses .501 ERA

I didn't expect McCarthy to break out in the Bronx with:

    7 Wins 5 Losses and a .289 ERA.

the only consistent stat I see on McCarthy began in 2011, with a K/BB ratio being 3 to 5 times more K's than Walks...

McCarthy was a nice surprise to say the least. I'd guess more fans expected a flop than a contender, upon McCarthy's arrival in the Bronx...!

His previous stints with the Pale Hose, Rangers, A's and D'backs was anything but stellar...! (damn I despise that word, ever since Braniac claimed Mark Belanger was stellar), so is my ass then....

it only takes one misuse of a term, like stellar to ruin as much forever....kinda like eating a shit pie, but I wouldn't know from experience. Rick told me about his experiences with shit pies.....! (tongue in cheek)...
