I actually went to a chiropractor for a while. Though I dont buy the whole shakra the energies are connected bullsh!t I cant deny its the only thing that has made my neck feel better until my insurance stopped covering it. But really all he did was crack my neck and back, which feel great. What I dont buy is their leg strength test, its obviously a trick I just couldn't figure it out.
I do agree with that. I believe your body is like a freeway of information and freeways. Things get blocked and shit starts fĂșcking up. Releasing the blockages and creating a good environment just allows your body to heal itself. This is completely compatible in western medicine.
Acupuncture was the only thing that relieved my back pain a few years ago. Haven't had any problems since. I'm a firm believer in it.
The science behind cupping seems legit to me. But you have to admit acupuncture is horse shit. The leg strength test is bull shit dude would have me lay down then lift my leg while he held it down. He would put a finger on my spine and claim to align it, all the sudden my leg was stronger. I think ithad to do with the angle my leg was at but it was had to prove lay in down. Its just like any religion or practice, some of its good but when you start thinking it answers all of lifes questions you go off the deep end.
I've never actually heard a testimony of a cure until now, interesting. Anyone ive ever talking to it was just pain management and they were always in pain so I didnt see it working. Im always up for something that doesnt pump me full of over priced narcotics though. Maybe someday ill work up the balls to get some needles in the neck.
The needles don't even hurt. It feels more "itchy" than anything else. I've used acupuncture for decades now and it works well for me. Does it mean if I have cancer i go to the acupuncturist and hope he cures me? Not at all. But I like many of the holistic remedies (chiropractic, acupuncture, herbs, yoga, diet and lsd) to act like my body (car) is getting its oil changed and tune up on a frequent basis.
I bought an electrical stimulator of Amazon for about the same price as one acupunture treatment. When my back starts flaring up, it is far better for me to use instead of taking a pill.
I'm definitely not a fan of needles and am squeamish, but the treatment was well worth it. It doesn't work for everyone, but its worth a shot if it eventually provides you with relief.
I had a torn meniscus about 6 years ago knee was massive swollen. Dr wanted to go in and cut out the damaged cartilage. I went to acupuncture for 6 weeks instead. I haven't had any pain since, now swelling no discomfort, would never know it ever hurt.
I have to caution against this. If you feel the need to visit a chiropractor, by all means do what you feel you need to do for your body. HOWEVER, never allow them to "crack your neck". The quick twisting motion can cause micro tears in your carotid artery, which can then cause a stroke.
