You may be on to something. The original 65-year eligible age for social security was based on the life expectancy of the American male at the time. The average life expectancy has increased steadily since. Perhaps the goal is to get us back down to a 65-year life expectancy in order to prevent bankrupting the Social Security system. Or, maybe not... BNM
Its all about moderation, brother. If I work out 5 days a week, its not gonna hurt to scarf down some gut bombs every once in awhile.
I eat fast food about 1-2 times a month, i think i'm doing okay. I'm not sure if you count your local Chinese place as fast food, then it is more like 3 times.
Yeah, I agree. An occasional indulgence is OK, if you lead an active healthy lifestyle. I ate at 5 Guys on Wednesday with my son. It was his choice. Only my second burger in four and a half years. I just make it a personal policy to avoid any place with a drive through. That makes it easy to avoid the worst of the worst. I'd rather save my occasional indulgences for something better than fastfood, like on rare occasions (pun intended) a good steak, a good desert or even a really good pizza. BNM
I think you're doing more than OK, compared to the average American. I know some people that eat fastfood 1-2 times a DAY, every day. That's what my brother's diet was like for over 25 years. Eventually, that catches up with you. BNM
Went down town a couple nights back and we had our monthly serving of not so healthy food. We went to Foley's Pub and had a Foley burger. Down right delicious! About 6 inches in diameter tall enough to please Dagwood, a half pound beef, a slice of ham, lightly toped with Face Rock Cheddar, lettuce and fresh cut onions. Fresh cut potato fries on the side. Foley stopped by with a couple pints a Bass and told us some yarns about Galway, I couldn't resist spinning a couple about the ways in the lower Hebrides. Might have to do it again.
