Real hard hitting analysis there Struds.

Been watching the fourth line closely last game and this game after that thread about it. Fast has been one of the best forward on the team in keeping his man and making the right switches. And he single handedly just set up that chance by Nash.

Glass brings the whole line down. everyone he's played with has looked awful. Put
Someone else there with Fast and Moore before we bail on another prospect.

Would rather see Malone on the 4th line

Thats what I would do as well but AV doesnt seem to have any use for Malone. Too slow I guess. If they could find a bigger wing who can also skate to play Glass's spot they'd be set. Fast is an upgrade over Glass on the PK too.

I dont know prod. Fast does not look too impressive to me. If he needs better players on his line so he can prove he belongs then it is an issue. That penalty he took was beyond stupid.

I wouldnt exactly call him impressive either and I've never been very high on him, just don't think he sucks. I think he does enough things well to be a contributor if put in the right situation.

Hard to make any assessment when he's only played 16 regular season and 3 playoff games. Good speed, Swedish and gives good effort what else can you say other than he's definitely not a 4th liner.

No player will look with Glass because Glass sucks and ruins the offense of every line he is on.

Glass is out there to answer the bell should an opponent come knocking and unlike Dorcillo more than holds his own. Watching the two of them fight last year was embarrassing, small body big heart equates to total beatdown/momentum uplift for opponent. Glass is an upgrade in the enforcer/checker role those two munchkins tried to fill last year nothing more.

I see your point panzer but if that's all we wanted we might as well have gotten John Scott, makes less than HALF of what Tanner Glass does and is only signed for a year. George Parros is a free agent, maybe we should give him a call. I bet he'd sign for less than 1.45 freakin million.

You're right in that Carcillo and Dorsett were no all stars, but at least they knew how to successfully receive or make a pass. Next time Glass does either of those things let me know. And defensively he has now managed to drop to a -8 while playing only 10 minutes a game. I mean I feel like Ron Burgundy right now, I'm not even mad. Thats amazing.

I know we're all putting that first goal on J.Moore because he got abused badly by Duchene, but watch that play from the beginning. D.Moore wins the faceoff, J.Moore sends it up the boards, Glass is at the point to deflect it out of the zone and WHOOPSIE he completely whiffs on it and it goes right by him. The point man keeps it in, and a few seconds later it's in the back of the net. Tanner Glass in a nutshell right there.

Glass is awful...that is pretty clear. That type of player (tough guy) does have a role, but they need to be able to do SOMETHING on the ice. He is terrible and should be gone.

To me this is all about the bottom 6. The D will be fine. Almost healthy now. DG/Staal/Klein all playing well. Boyle got better and better as the game moved on last night. Moore is what he is...a 3rd pair dman. And Hunwick is a solid 7th dman. When McD is back in 2-3 weeks our D will be no issue IMO.

The bottom 6 is the issue. I happen to think Stemp should be on the 4th line with Moore. Those two would form a really good base to our 4th line. Then the last spot AV will use Glass, but honestly I would maybe use Malone. Not sure if Fast is a good 4th line guy. Adds no size or toughness. I think Malone can fill that role. Malone/Moore/Stemp is a 4th line I like.

I have thought since Step came back that we should go Hags/Hayes/Duclair on the 3rd line. Hayes is getting better and better. YES he has work to do on faceoffs, but I assume he works on that daily and will continue to improve. But overall his game has gotten pretty strong. Hags is the perfect 3rd line winger. And I think Duke or Miller should fill out the 3rd line for now. BUT this is the area I would look outside to fill maybe. Give those two kids a shot on the 3rd line wing, and if it doesn't work we should add a top 9 forward to fill that role.

I fully believe that once we get the bottom 6 cleaned up we will be a very good team. That is our biggest hangup at the moment IMO.

81% of the team is small and quick..they need another bigger forward to balance it out. Nobody gets to the middle of the ice on the pp, everything is on the perimeter.

I don't understand why Glass' lack of offensive this year is continually pointed out when his career stats (including +/-) clearly show he's not here to headline a 4th line scoring juggernaut. I guess it was Tanner's fault that D. Moore could only muster a weak gut shot on a clear breakaway last night. Glass was signed to replace Dorsett (who made $1.63 last year) so I consider him an upgrade for less money ($1.63-$1.45 = savings + physical presence > Dorcillo). By the way, enough of the tall tales of Dorcillo's offensive prowess please, they spent more minutes lying on their backs dazed from a beatdown than they put points on the board (7G/4A/-1) or serving time in the box for head shakingly dumb penalties. For the record I would have been fine with Glen signing John Scott bad rep and all. I thought Torts really blew it with the players when he didn't dress big John in the Ottawa playoff series after Boyle was ambushed.

If you're looking for increased offense the third line is where it should come from, though it will take a little patience. As far as offense from the dmen Boyle is ridiculously better than Kostka and my favorite whipping boy Klein is playing great hockey for a reasonable price. Makes me think Glen should look to move the unaffordable Staal. The offense will also be greatly helped by the return of McDonough. As I've said from the beginning I think this roster is better than last year's. Keep banging your head against the wall about Glass and his 9-10 minutes if you must but AV loves the guy and he's not going anywhere.

Glass sucks every game, all year and Duds rips Fast. Typical.

It's also about time Kreider stops this nonsense of being a 40 point forward in the regular season and starts to play the regular season more like he does the playoffs.
