Re: Ainge has Doc's Back <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Ainge is sticking by RiversBy Shira Springer, Globe Staff | November 26, 2006MILWAUKEE -- Busy scouting college players, Danny Ainge was probably glad he missed the "Fire Doc" chants that echoed around TD Banknorth Garden Friday night. While the Celtics were rebounding in Milwaukee last night with a 111-98 victory, Ainge was watching Kansas play Florida in Las Vegas. He heads to North Carolina today where he will look at North Carolina, N.C. State, Duke, Ohio State, Michigan, and Indiana. When asked about displeasure of the fans, Ainge said, "I think that's sad. I think that's completely unfair. I don't know what else to say. We did not respond in the right way [against the Knicks]. We let our emotions get the best of us. And that's not Doc's fault."Not wanting to make excuses, Ainge blamed poor practices and injuries that culminated in the end of the team's three-game winning streak. He noted that Delonte West, Kendrick Perkins, and Wally Szczerbiak have not been 100 percent."Here's my take: During the three-game winning streak, we had a fantastic week of practice," said Ainge. "Then, we had injuries and that threw things off. We need practices. We need to practice hard. We need to stay sharp."Neither West (sprained left big toe) nor Perkins (plantar fasciitis) complained of pain following Friday night's loss.</div>
Re: Ainge has Doc's Back You would think that a GM who has gotten alot of talent over the last couple of years wouldnt be content with losing....If Ainge is blaming the losses on a "lack of good practices", then why in the hell isnt he blaming Doc? Doc runs the practices and he has the power to do the players what he wants out of them. Alot of that article makes no sense.
Re: Ainge has Doc's Back As much as we all dislike Doc, I personally don't think Ainge will fire him, no matter what happens this year. They are great friends and they back each other about everything. Plus, it's just our luck. If I had to put money on Doc getting fired this year or not, I would say he doesn't.
Re: Ainge has Doc's Back Does Danny Ainge realize he's running a team? scouting college players? Like we need more young guys? C'mon Ainge, would you grow some balls and make a move or something. How can this guy constantly be backing up Doc? I wanna say he Danny while you were on you're little scouting trip, your team that you are the GM had one of the worst collapses I have seen in the past few years. All this guy cares about is having a good draft, how about putting a team together and winning some games. Maybe you should start listening to the fans. I'm sorry but people need to start hammering Ainge.
Re: Ainge has Doc's Back that's interesting. Ainge does treat this team like he's playing a video game sometimes. All his moves have been lateral, we just keep getting more young guys and more potential. Someone has to take responsibility sooner or later.
Re: Ainge has Doc's Back <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Someone has to take responsibility sooner or later.</div>EXACTLYwe need to be a competitive team sooner or later...I remember last year Antoine said when you think of Boston, you think of Paul Pierce and nothing else, I hate to say this as a Celtics fan but you know what, he is pretty much right.
