<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Ainge has offered anybody and everybody for Pau Gasol and anyone else the Grizzlies want to discard in the deal to make it happen.</div>
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>By all accounts, VP Jerry West is forbidden to make a trade no matter how insignificant (or change coaches) until the new group is either approved or disapproved in mid-December, maybe later.</div>
Pau did say something this summer about if this team doesn't improve fast then he could want a change, keep that in mind. BUT, is this really likely to happen? No.

But, <u>anything and everything</u>? That can't mean Paul Pierce, right? I would imagine talks about Al Jefferson, a guard (Bassy, Rondo, West), Theo or Wally's contract, picks. Maybe Gerald. I'm hoping that if anything ever did go down, that they wouldn't want Gerald since they already have Gay/Warrick/Miller.

Either way, this is at the very least a nice rumor. Gives us something else to talk about besides "fire Doc."

I would hope it wouldn't be Pierce included... But knowing Ainge, it almost wouldn't surprise me.... Should be interesting to see what happens, but I think he should go after KG...

I remember saying that Pau Gasol was the player for this team, I'm glad to see that Danny's going after him. I'd be willing to give up Al Jefferson, Delonte, and Wally.

This would be pretty ridiculous...Pau is realtively unhappy with the Grizzlies from their dismal seasons they've been having. Pau is an outstanding talent. He is injured right now though.....when is he coming back?

I think that Pau very well might be traded. If you look at his contract, he only has 1 year left. If Gasol is unhappy with his current situation in Memphis, he is going to leave after his contract expires anyways...so I bet Memphis would be looking to deal him so they could get something out of it. So, I bet if the C's offerred some fresh young talent there way, they might take a bite at it. Although these are just "rumors" it would still be AMAZING for the celtics. They would be a top 5 or 6 team in the east no doubt.

That's a lot to offer for Pau Gasol. Anything and everything? Obviously excluding Pierce, but if I'm Memphis I think I do this and stash a few more young guys like Al Jefferson, Rajon Rondo, maybe a Perkins, and then an expiring. They're not going anywhere anytime soon, so why not. Pau is relatively young, but he's coming off major foot surgery and you guys are saying his contract is coming up, so I think this is a great opportunity for Memphis.

I dont think the Celtics would want to trade Rondo anytime soon. Players that I could see them dealing would be, Delonte West, Al Jefferson or Ryan Gomes (take your pick out of the two), an expiring contract, and maybe a first rounder for Gasol. I think that is a decent amount for a guy who doesn't want to be there....If this was to go down though, the C's would have to make sure that Gasol would want to stay for a long time.

You know what would be funny? If we did this, cashed in all our potential, and then Gasol didn't re-sign with us. Haha! I'm pretty sure he has a player option at the end though.

Also, this may be Peter Vescey (who does put out a lot of crappy writing), but he did call the Antoine Walker trade (when we traded back for him in 2005). He said it would go down, people bashed him, it happened 1 month later.

But, also consider that we are not the only team calling about Gasol. Guarenteed.

but how many teams would be willing to offer as much as Boston. Both Ainge and Doc have their necks on the line in a city that does NOT like losing. They seem like they would be more desperate than others. Not to mention they have ALOT of potential to give Memphis.

This is all bull. Yall are misqouting Pau. He said hes not happy about his best friend being traded, but he admitted that if there wasnt a major change this offseason that he would consider leaving. And there was a mjor change and he got a old friend back(Stro) and a projected superstar in Rudy Gay. Hes very happy with the grizzlies and he wont leave. And it would be exciting to see something like telfair, green, gay and warrick, but West wouldnt trade Gasol unless he got a proven big man. And sorry Celtic fans, Perkins and Jefferson arent going to cut it. I dont see Gasol going anywhere soon. But keep dreaming, I still dream of trading EJ for AI one day.....

First of all, Pau didn't say anything about major changes in this past offseason. He said that if the team did not improve by the end of the year (improve from last year), then he would consider a change of scenery. Also, if you count losing Jackson and Wright while getting Stro and 2 solid rookies "major changes," then you are out of your mind.

I guess I should say the same to you: keep dreaming.

this isn't like trading ej for ai, it's an actually realistic possibility. Pau Gasol did want a change, but he didn't want to give up proven talent for a project. He's been very frustrated because the Griz have been swept in the first round three years in a row. So losing talent would NOT help that, and they're last in the west at the moment.

Wow. If you guys traded for Pau Gasol without giving up Pierce and too much young talent. Thats a hellova a combo. If the Grizzlies ownership issue gets worked out something could happen...but trades are difficult and Pau Gasol is the only thing the Grizzlies have right now...It's interesting and more possible considering the young talent you guys have.

of course you have nothing to say, because you don't have any facts to back it up. Face it, the Grizzlies are 3-10, things aren't in ship-shape. A trade is a very tangible possibility.

Were going to have to give up a Wally and Delonte and probally a swing man(allen?) and thats fine with me... Pierce and Gasol I think will bring us into the playoffs, and not just the 8th seed either.

something along the lines of Delonte West, Wally Szczerbiak, Al Jefferson. Or Telfair, Jefferson, Ratliff and a pick or two.
