What are your thoughts on the 06 draft class so far? Obviously it's too early but at least we have a general idea.
almost no surprises. It sucks as much as we thought. Next year the rookies may well win the rookie challenge.
I dont think this draft class sucks, they are just young, I mean Aldirdge, Gay, Thomas, Bargnani etc etc are all projects. I dont think we have a Hward or Ming and defiently not a Lebron, but I think we have one of the more deeper drafts in recent history. For the past few years weve had superstars popping left and right into the NBA, and it usually isnt like that. And now its toning down and that talent level right now isnt as high. But in a few years, Roy, Foye Gay Aldirdge will all be stars.

But I get what you mean: they need time in the league to establish themselves. There aren't many players in this class that are truly NBA ready, a lot of these guys require about 3 years before you can really label them a bust or not. This was an underrated draft class. People made it sound like it was full of a bunch of no-name D-Leaguers. They are just mad it didn't have any franchise players, when in reality it has a lot of guys (even in the 2nd round) that will be solid NBA contributors. A lot of these guys have All-Star potential as well. What's this like, 3, 4 threads about the 06 draft in a week?
This draft was considered a bad draft because it didnt have very many big named players like Lebron James or Carmelo Anthony....But when you look at this draft, it had alot of depth and could produce alot of All-Stars in the future. The #1 pick in the draft, Barganani, was picked for the future and everyone should know that. He will be a pretty good player in the future IMO once he adapts more to the NBA's style of ball. Tyrus Thomas has the athletic ability to be great, LaMarcus Aldridge has the length, offensive skillset, and defesnive presence to be an all-star, Rudy Gay is going to be a complete stud...he is just SO talented. Adam Morrison is going to average in his prime around 25-28 PPG. His offensive skillet is outstanding. And then you have Brandon Roy who is smart, a good defender, and a complete scorer. The list could go on for sometime......
Foye and Rondo are crap like I thought they were. I'm liking Ty Thomas, who was my preseason ROY. Roy's doing well of course.

Randy Foye isn't getting minutes in a very deep rotation and Rondo has played well in a back-up role. As usual you have no idea what your talking about.

He's showing flashes in the little minutes he does get though. Foye is going to be a good player. Why is Rondo crap, S2S? Because you havn't even seen him play, and you look at the stat sheet and get mad because he doesn't put up 10/5/5? Yeah, thought so. How about you actually WATCH someone play before you knock on them. Rondo does everything, and the last 2 games have brought down his stats (which everyone seems to obsess over) because he has had the flu and he's played very limited minutes (including about 13 seconds of time last night).

Rajon Rondo is a VERY good rookie PG and Foye isnt getting the playing time to put up good numbers. And why did you pick Tyrus Thomas to win ROY? He isnt getting that many minutes this year and he isnt NBA ready like alot of rookies this season. Hell, even Rondo is putting up better numbers than Thomas from what I can remember.
Wow, talk about gangbang. 4 people in a row rip me. Ouch. I'll feel that one in the morn. But you got me, I don't know jack about Foye or Rondo. Unless a person puts up great numbers they suck in my book. Or unless they're a Sun ;D

Plus it was a stupid comment. :no1: What im wondering..and CB32 im actually coming on to your point, how could the Celtics pass up Marcus Williams? this guy is just an amazing PG, if not the best PG in this draft, you've got to be kidding me.

When Williams worked out for the Celtics before the draft, he was out of shape and slow. He did bad in our conditioning tests.2. Rondo dominated Williams AND Randy Foye in workouts.3. DEFENSE. Rondo can defend very well, Williams can't even spell the word defense.4. Rondo is very athletic, quicker, a very good passer.5. He's a smarter player than Williams, and commits less turnovers.6. Rondo is an unbelievable rebounder for his size.7. Rondo's feel for the game is unheard of for a rookie PG. You have to watch him to know what people mean when they say that about him.Williams can shoot the ball better, sure. Rondo's defense is 100x better than Williams', he's quicker and more athletic (which obviously fits better in our up-tempo system), he is an excellent playmaker (like Williams), he's a very good rebounder, etc. I listed it above. Not to mention Williams had some off-court issues last year. We made the right choice.
