Batum's knee; why aren't you guys worried?

He's been pushed back repeatedly, and he's now getting some injects? Maybe I'm missing something, but it seems like nobody here is worried.

 

Unless it turns into something serious which I definitely wouldn't want happening, I'm actualy happy with the opportunity to try some other players and lineups.

 

We are playing well without him, for the most part, and winning. Hopefully his injury is nothing more than a contusion, but it is a good idea to give him time to rest.

For now, keep playing Crabbe as a starter and allowing him time to develop.

 

I have more faith in the Blazers current medical and training staff than I've EVER had in the team's medical and training staffs.

So far they are saying 'contusion'. If it were more serious, I think they'd know it.

Moreover, I'm actually GLAD they are taking it slow, giving Batum time off -- during a home stand -- and getting him 100% before putting him back on the court. All my life I've seen players put back on the court too soon and I've never liked it.

An ancillary benefit is that it gives the team an opportunity to develop Crabbe and other backups -- during a home stand -- which is a good thing.

In the meantime, we're still winning.

Because it's just a contusion. He will be back by Friday is my guess. By then he will nearly have sat out two weeks.

 

I'm actually more worried about CJ. For the most part CJ was money from three, and he really needs the court time.

Batum if anything needs as much rest as possible after playing competively year-round for as long as he's been on the team.

 

I feel terrible for 3J. Thankfully the team has a lot of 2 guard depth.

 

Smart. Maybe we can trade him for Sabonis.

Batum needs rest; he played a ton over the summer, and has been playing underwhelming ball so far. If Crabby Patty can cover for him and we keep winning, why not let him rest San Antonio style under the guise of a knee injury?

If our bench is deep enough, then relax and develop your bench. It will only help come playoffs.

 

It's just a deep knee bruise which is probably inflamed. Better to rest it until it shrinks to normal size than to damage the meniscus. I think it's better at this stage of the season to let him fully heal than force the issue and this is why you have 15 guys on a roster

 

I'm sure they are worried. Just because you don't hear anything about the Blazers staff/doctors being worried doesn't mean they aren't. If it's major, Being such a fan favorite like Batum is I'm sure there just trying to keep it on the down low till they can gather more information.

Not worried at all......my boy is almost getting 2 weeks of rest and we haven't skipped a beat.
