Dude Houston sucks. They gave away their depth for absolutely nothing because your GM was so willing to bet the house for the third superstar. Melo? Whoops maybe Bosh? Oh never mind um Ariza... LOL

Yup. Essentially Asik/Parsons/Lin for Ariza. That's not how you improve your team.

Could you imagine if Olshey did the same thing?! We would want him out of town as quickly as he arrived

I just want to say that I may not agree with everything you say but I appreciate your takes and views on Houston.

Remember the article about nobody wanting to play with Kobe?! I think that same thing applies for Howard. Anyone that knows the game, knows Howard is a mental midget and Harden makes most his points from flopping and getting to the foul line.

When the playoffs don't fall for that shit, then Harden is just an average player. And put the pressure on and Howard will fold like he always does.

Houston is damaged goods with a shitty coach, terrible fans and terrible management

I concur. This guy is probably as legit a Rockets fan as you will see on the Internet. I bet other clutch fans posters are often critical of superbeards takes.

Edit: still room for much improvement

He hasn't had a back issue in a long while. Today it was a "Sore Knee" which is mysterious since it seemed no one knew about it until like a minute before the game. So there is speculation as to what that is about.

But absolutely we are reliant on Harden and Howard as any team is their stars.

The bigger problem here is though, as I said yesterday....the Rockets literally have no back up center. Black and Dorsey are d-league level players so they do not count. I see someone mentioned Asik, but Asik was never returning to the Rockets. They did not have the option to retain Asik. Period. End of story. It wasn't an option, he pouted all last year about not starting and sat out for most of the year. Even if there was an option I doubt the team would want him back if he's going to pout because he could not be the starting center anymore. I doubt that this is the team they will be going into the playoffs with though. As in they are going to find another back up big.

Of course though missing both of their starting PF and C is going to hurt them. It means they have to rely on Harden carrying the team and you can't have a player no matter how good he is carry a whole team like that. This is partly because they have no other ball handlers outside of Harden (well they have Canaan but they do not play him...) and just spot up shooters like the old Hakeem Rockets or old Dwight Magic.

You guys had one and let him go. Now he's doing great in Nola. I do admit letting Lin go was probably a good thing. He was absolute garbage, but letting parson and Asik go will be a huge mistake.

Okay, they were going to lose Asik, but they gave him up for nothing. Cap space. A pipe dream of obtaining Chris Bosh. Morey could have done a hell of a lot better than he did for Asik, Lin, and Parsons. You don't think you could have turned Asik into a decent backup big?

The biggest mistake as I said before was not trading Parsons for Rondo. That was dumb.

Parsons/Ariza is a wash, Ariza I prefer because I know he won't get lit up randomly by the likes of James Anderson, Corey Brewer, or whoever.

Lin is trash guys, look at his line tonight. Lakers took him out of the game at the end of the game because he was helping us more than he was helping them. He's not a loss at all.

Asik was a goner, they got all they could for him. Parsons situation was mishandled, one because Morey trusted Parsons and that was a big mistake and two he should have traded him for Rondo when he had the chance. Along with Lin, Asik, and whoever.

    Why thank you :D

You take your hate a little far. Howard took his team to the finals, not many players can say that. You can't be a mental midget and do that. He definitely did not fold under pressure, especially not last year.

Harden does not get his points only off flopping, I won't get into that again. People seem to forget that Harden is also the Rockets PG too. People completely forget that, look at his assist numbers. He's up there with PGs, this idea that Harden just flops and that's his only game is just...I don't know. Anyone that watches the game a lot wouldn't say this.

Clutchfans you get all types of posters. Most will just overreact after every game though, but definitely some reasonable guys there. It was crazy when Lin was there. It's going to be crazy all year because unfortunately the Rockets won't win with McHale.

The fact that he has on several occasions asked Harden to guard PFs (Remember in the playoffs when Harden was guarding Lopez for like 3 trips? Easy points for Lopez.) and that our last defining shot was a post up for Tarik Black says all you need to know about McHale. At least they are playing better defense, but that probably has more to do with Coach K and a new defensive coach than it does McHale.

Replacing Parsons for Ariza was a plus for me still. I would have liked to have traded him for Rondo again (If that was ever possible, so many people say it was on the table...) and you are right he should have found a capable back up big.

Morey really stuck out this offseason, no doubt. Not only on Chris Bosh, but Lowry also wanted to play here and Morey told him that they'd make their decision on Lowry AFTER Carmelo's decision.

Morey's big problem is he swings for homeruns. It worked out for the Rockets in getting Harden and Dwight, but I think a lot of fans think Harden and Dwight is a fine two guys to build around and that it's time to start adding solid players to this team and not assets and flexibility. I guess we'll see what he does this year... any one he trades is someone we should probably keep.

Morey's biggest mistake was not replacing McHale, may not be all on him as the owner Les has never fired a coach (always lets the contract run out) but they had to see after last year that McHale is one of the worst coaches in the league and it's only so much the players can do to make up for him sitting on the bench and doing nothing.

Superbad, I like you but I hate your team. Sorry if I want to see your team fall as hard as the Lakers. It's sad because I started liking you guys when you got Clyde.

Then Clyde took it too far and devoted himself as a lifelong Rocket. That started my hatred. Then just reading clutch fans just grosses me out.

Most in that shit hole are losers. No offense

You didn't really replace Parsons with Ariza though. You dealt Asik and Lin to make cap space and you ultimately used that cap space on Ariza. You let Parsons go for nothing. Zip. Zilch. Nada, because you thought you could sign Bosh and then sign Parsons.

So in essence, you lost those three players in a play for Bosh and only came away with Ariza. That's not a good trade bro. Ariza is okay, but he's not a star. You guys can bash on Lin all you want, but he's still an asset. He had a bad game tonight, but he hasn't played horribly. I thought he was fine as a spark off the bench. At times he really kept you in games with his scoring. He was your Mo Williams. You take the good with the bad.

Really, Morey should be fired for letting Dragic walk for nothing. That was stupid. You traded having Dragic on your team so you could bring in Lin. That was just bad. I really don't understand why Morey is considered such a great GM. Sure, the Harden trade was highway robbery, but that was as much about OKC being stupid as it was about Morey throwing a god awful trade at them and them stupidly accepting it.

You can't be too hard on Clyde though, he still has love for the Blazers if you listen to him call the games against you guys. He's been a Houston guy though, went to college and high-school here and everything so it's kind of like his hometown.

But you guys can have him back as a commentator, there aren't many people that actually enjoy him call games. He's a super homer and every player on the team is the best player at his position according to him.

But Clutchfans is clutchfans though, guys there are in the comfort of their fellow fans so they are comfortable talking trash about other teams. I don't think that's anything exclusive to Rocket fans. Spurs fans are the most underrated trashy fans of them all though...definitely...

Spurs fans will get theirs. Duncan will retire soon. So will Ginobili. Parker is looking like he has lost a step too. I'm not convinced that Leonard is a superstar. That team is destined for a few years of sitting at the bottom.

Well if they had signed Bosh (and apparently they were pretty close to doing so) then it would have been a brilliant move no? Also, the Lin deal came after Bosh gave a verbal agreement to sign with the Rockets. He was coming here, then the Heat threw the max at him and made a strong pitch for him to stay. So I don't see it that way. The Lin move came much later, Morey would have probably held onto him if they knew Bosh would back out of his agreement.

Once that happened they still had the option of signing Parsons, but decided that he wasn't worth that contract moving forward.

All of the Parsons/Lin thing was a play towards Bosh who almost signed here. If he did then no one would be saying that Morey failed, and for a moment Bosh was coming here. The Lin move was reaction to "Okay, he's coming. Lets unload this last bit of cap so we can sign him."

Dragic was let go for various reasons, but the main reason is that the team was finally planning on tanking. (At least it looked that way) before it was the Lowry/Dragic/Brooks years and the team was competitive and stuck in the middle. It was also a money thing, but the team was more into collecting young players. That was the year they acquired Harden though, so that was a offseason he had won. Dragic says he would come back here to play btw, so that's a thing to watch I guess.

The reason Morey is regarded as such a good GM is because he took nothing out of something, and turned it into two superstars. If you asked me "I need to rebuild my team..." there isn't any other GM I'd pick. They didn't tank and made their team into a top WC team by being mediocre and flipping assets.

Now it's on Morey to realize that he isn't rebuilding a team any more. That maybe trading T.Jones for instance (no rumors, just an example) for some guy with potential isn't a smart move. That for a team that wants to compete it's better to hang on to a player like Jones, better to hang onto guys like Ariza, and add to your depth.

Morey traded Patrick Patterson for Trob for instance. That's a rebuilding move. Ppat isn't getting any better, at the time Trob was a 2nd year guy who barely played. Morey thinks to just give him a shot and see if his value can rise. Keeping Ppat is a team building move because he's a really good big to come off your bench. So this is new to Morey, who has for a while now been trying to rebuild a team that was shattered after the Tmac/Yao years.

EDIT: Although, I agree letting Dragic go now looks like a bad move. I think many people forget it though because they acquired Harden that year.

It will be a long time until they are truly at the bottom but you are right every team has to spend their time down there.

I think San Antonio will have a "Jail Blazers"-esque (without the crime of course) fall one day. You can't bank on a future where you roster is essentially going to be:

    Patty Mills / Cory Joesph
    Danny Green / Marco Belinelli
    Kawhi Leonard / Kyle Anderson
    Boris Diaw / Jeff Pendergraph
    Tiago Splitter / Aron Baynes

Idk the last time the Spurs spent big bucks on a free agent either so I doubt the Spurs brass (who is deservedly cocky right now) is going to be big spenders.
