<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Commercial Appeal -League sources indicate that the Grizzlies could do a deal that would send Mike Miller to the Los Angeles Clippers for Corey Maggette. The Clippers need a perimeter shooter and the Grizzlies could use Maggette's toughness on offense.</div>Source: Memphis Commercial AppealInteresting rumor... I think it clearly would benefit Memphis as they would have an explosive perimeter scorer to pair up with Gasol when he returns. I know it's a rumor, but still...Thoughts?

Well, I think Millers value is really even with Maggettes, Miller runs the offense alot when hes in the game(with Pau or without) so he is a big part of our offense. But we have rebounding issues which Maggette brings to the 2/3 spot. And hes a penetrator/slasher which will fit perfect with our future system. Intresting, I would do it. Then we'll have two dukies again!!!

I think it works for both teams. Maggs is more aggressive and can fill in the scoring gap left wiht Pau out. Miller will hopefully keep his stats up(for my fantasy team's sake).

Man, maggette, Rudy, Hak, Stro running down the same court :shok: That would be a crazy team.

That would really be a good trade for both teams. The clipps are in desperate need of a new player, specially a shooter. While thsi woudl give the Grizzelies another great athlete making them a very athletic team

I like this trade for both teams. Although, I don't see Mike Miller being much of an upgrade over Cuttino Mobley. He's obviously better but not by much.Corey Maggette is going to be a dominate scorer in Memphis, He has the ability to put 20 points on any given night, Put him on a team where he is the main option and he could be among the league leaders in scoring.

He's a 20 point scorer, he's a good rebounder, he's a freak athlete, he is a solid defender. He would be an upgrade over Miller in Memphis, especially with what they are doing (going athletic). For LA, I don't really like it all that much. I agree with Balla, Miller isn't really that much of an upgrade over Mobley. Plus, this would take away a real go-to guy off the bench for the Clippers. Sure, you would have Miller or Mobley off the bench, but they are shooters not scorers. Maggette can score in other ways (penetration, getting to the line). If Miller or Mobley are off (shooting) then they aren't really that effective for that game.

I dont see this working for LA. Mike Miller is a lot more of justa a shooter than Maggs. And Maggs brings alot of all around game, witch would be lost from the acquisition of Miller.

wouldn't be a bad trade, Memphis really needs a slasher bad. plus, with a 3-10 or so record, a change is needed, regardless. now I know pau is out, but they need someone who can generate their own offense, rather than just having alot of shooters.

Yes, we ahve a bunch of shooters, which worked great with Gasols passouts, but it isnt easy for them anymore. Gay/DJ/Warrick(our closest things to slashers) are all young, so LA gets a great perimeter shooter in Mighty Mike and we get a tough slasher in Maggette.

What does this say about Maggette that they are so willing to deal him for...Mike Miller? I wonder whats been going on with him over there.

He shoots a very solid percentage, will get you some rebounds, and plays decent defense. Like I said earlier, him and Maggette are pretty similiar. The it all depends on how well each player meshes with their new team. It's a pretty fair trade in my book.</span></span>

Yeah Mike Miller can play 3 positions, many people dont realize he can be a excellent playmaker at PG when he is needed to be there. Its a swap of what each team needs, not all trades have to be talent for talent.

I am not so sure about the deal for Memphis. Only if Maggette is a tempory starter and first option. Rudy Gay is in town and emerging. Maggette I guess could move over to the two guard spot in the future. This probably means that Eddie Jones won't return, but I didn't think he would anyway. Maggette could be a good fit in Memphis though, especially when Pau Gasol gets back. As for LA, I don't like. More minutes for Quinten Ross though, my new most underrated player in the league.

Rudy Gay has been playing at Shooting Guard anyways. Why? I have no idea, that thats who he defends and thats where hes listed. So Maggette can stay at the 3.

I wouldnt like this for Memphis simply for the fact that Maggette is VERY injury prone. This is the first season in a while where he hasnt missed games and we are barley in to the season. When healthy, I would take Maggette in a heart beat. He is a great slasher, and really could rack up the buckets before he started getting injured all over the place. I agree with dogma in a sense that they need change because what they are doing right now, obviously isnt working...
