After starting the year 2-8 from three point land, Aldridge is 6-7 from behind the arc. I would love to see more pick and pops with Aldridge and Lillard that end up with Aldridge toeing the line for three on the pop rather than shooting that 20 foot jumper (although both are great shots).

What do you guys think? 3 is better than 2.

I think LA just wanted to shut up Kevin Love this season and did.

I'm loving Aldridge's occasional threeball this season.

After hitting his trey last night, he ended up wide open for another on the next possession, but passed it up. I for one was yelling 'shoot it' at the television. His stroke looks as effortless from there as it does from anywhere else.

In the normal course of the offense, he stands two feet from the 3 point line to receive the ball and then either swing it or make a play for himself. It is very reasonable to start 2 feet back at the 3 point line. If he's open, he should shoot.

So, he/the team shouldn't really do anything special to get 3 pointers. He should be taking more in the normal course of the offense. That being said, he should leak out to the corner 3 more which is about the same distance he posted up on last year...

Smoooth lookin stroke. I want that pick and pop with Dame to be a three instead of a 20' two every time. Threes up top, elbow fades, and post ups on the left block. He's turning more and more into Dirk every season.

Want at least 3 attempts a game, just so defenses begin to respect it and improve our spacing as a result.

As long as its reliable and he continues to average around 10 rebounds, I am happy with it.

I like how he occasionally does it. It makes his game even more versatile, which keeps the defense guessing. If they know he's always going to step back for that three, then defenses can plan better for it.

What I would love to see is him developing a drive to the basket after a fake more. He's done it before and was able to get to the foul line. If it happens more frequently, how will you stop him?!

I'm amazed at the height of the arc in LA's shot. Sometimes it seems to peak at about 20ft in the air!

If he would take/make more threes on the pick and pop, it would make it next to impossible for teams to double lillard.

And it would make it next to impossible to get rebounds.

He's already 20 feet from the hoop. I'm only asking for 23 feet.

I think it is great that he has worked on that shot. Defenses have to respect him now out there and it draws them out of the middle opening up other options. However, I don't want to see it become a habit. In most cases it has happened on broken plays or a shot clock bailout. Nice to see it dropping in though. Just more firepower in the already massive force they call LA!!!!

    peace out,

Out of the 15 threes he's taken, 4 have been at the shot clock buzzer in desperation (aka, wouldn't have shot otherwise). All 8 made threes have been early in the shot clock and when he finds himself open, so he is essentially 8-11 when he takes the three within the offense. That is impressive.

This obsession with the 3 ball is baffling. A couple years ago if Aldridge were to shoot those shots people would say he was soft.

If the 3 happens within the flow of the offense that's fine. But to purposely strive to shoot that 3 as opposed to keep the defense guessing is idiotic.

It's not just here, it's everywhere. The concept is that the 3 pointer is worth more, which adds more efficiency to scoring.

    Example: if a player shoots a 3 at 35%, it's as efficient as a player shooting 50% from 2

It helps that 3 is more than 2.

Funny how there's two ways to win, but they both mean the same thing in the end.
