Quick question - basketball-reference.com has Roy on our salary listing for 2014-15 at 19mil. Is that right? Is he affecting our cap space in any way this year/next year?
http://www.blazersedge.com/2011/12/...azers-to-waive-brandon-roy-via-amnesty-clause I think we are technically still paying him but it doesn't affect our current situation. However, could it make PA less likely to open the wallet next year? I assume his remaining balance will be paid by the end of this year though.
My looming question about Roy is why hasn't he attended 1 Blazer game since he's retired? With all Portland did for him, he's been curiously absent from showing any support to the team that he was a big part of. I know he can afford good seats
I don't blame him for it; it's gotta be painful not bring able to do what you love... Even if you're rich. He might not want the publicity.
I disagree, Sheed left his championship Pistons for Boston and every year returned to the Palace to show support for his teammates even though he retired. Led to a coaching position for one season but that's still showing support for those who supported you. The Moda Center would show nothing but love for BRoy if he attended a homegame and yeah, he can't play anymore but he's gotta still love the game.
He's only 30 years old. It wouldn't surprise me if he did come back to the NBA as a coach or an announcer someday.

Why? He took cap space from a division rival and gave them nada in return. Seems like a perfect thing to do for a Portland lover.
My bad, I thought he was still a Timberwolf when he came to that game. I think if BRoy showed Blazer allegiance it would help his cause for jersey retirement. I see now that it was a Bucks game. Thanks for correcting me.
f you wanna support the traitor, go ahead. He took money knowing his knees were ready to fall off. Fuck him
