http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/434..._headband_rule/<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>LeBron James doesn't understand why the Bulls are making such a big fuss about a headband. "I know Ben Wallace has been wearing a headband for long time. I have worn a headband for a long time, probably from when I was 13 years old until now," James said. "It is a routine. I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't wear one. If it is something you have been doing your whole life -- it doesn't matter what field you're in, athletics or the business side -- if someone comes and tells you to switch your routine up, it is going to mess up your work. "I'd be upset if they had some rule about it here. I don't know why it is such a problem," James said. "It's not disrespecting anybody, it's not thinking you're bigger than anyone on the team. Hey, certain people must have their own rules."</div>I agree and disagree with LeBron. I agree that there is no harm in it and it shoudn't be a "rule." It's a headband for crying out loud. But come on LeBron, not wearing a headband would affect your game? Give me a break about that... I have always worn a headband as well, but it doesn't affect my game if I don't wear one.

I don't give a crap what bron says but this is a stupid ass rule. What's wrong with headbands? They don't bite. Maybe skiles got posterized a lot by someone wearing a headband when he was playing. What an idiot. Lame rule.

I mean, Scoop Jackson said it best... instead of worrying about trying to get the team to play together and get everybody on the same page, Skiles decided to bench his $60 million player over a head band. Give me a break...By the way, here is the Scoop Jackson article I am talking about:http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story.../wallace/061128

A lot of the guys in the NBA are superstitious (example, Terry having to wear each opposing team's shorts before a game at night when he sleeps) you don't even have to be really superstitious, I am this way, when I play, everything has to be exactly the same because I am comfortable with it, I am used to it. It all has to do mentally, and the mental part of sports (as we know) is huge and without a doubt, enough to mess up your game.I agree with LeBron. It is a stupid rule. Although a lot of high schools and some college coaches have the same rules (our coach does).

Some pretty good insight by Lebron. But still, if he disagrees about it then he should talk to the Bull's staff, not blatantly disrespect the team's rules, and the club in general by showing up with a head band on.

Not only does it mess up your routine but people have forgotten the reason headbands are around. To keep sweat from getting in your eyes. Sure, getting sweat in your eye isn't that big of a deal but then again, neither is wearing a headband.

Sweat really burns your eye and makes it hard to see for a little while. And if you sweat a lot it's a problem.

I had no idea NBA players were such babies up until last year with the uniform policy and armband policies. My f*cking god, do you know how stupid it sounds? You think NBA fans that work full-time for nothing and come home and read this want to hear it? This is part of the reason why people don't like the NBA and have been turned off. "Ugh, my coach won't let me wear a headband, wah wah." F*cking spare me. Your being paid $15 million dollars, be glad and STFU up.

So now Bron says something and I'm supposed to care about Ben Wallace not being able to sport his headband? Respect the rules as given, as stupid as they might be and I know there are rules people think are stupid. Their still law and you have to abide by them.

I still think they should be allowed. They do help. They make you sweat a little more but they're cool on most players and more importantly block basically all sweat from blinding you.

People wear facemasks because they usually have a recovering broken nose (except Rip who wears is out of superstition) and people wear knee pads and stuff because.. maybe, just maybe... they have knee problems? :blink:EDIT: also guys, the Skiles isn't the only coach in the league with this rule. I know Jerry Sloan and Nate McMillan enforce this rule as well, if there are any others let me know.

Goggles also can be for people who don't have 20/20 vision and don't want to wear contacts. They all have a purpose. What's a headband's purpose other then being a fashion statement? Don't give me it protects sweat from entering your eyes. There's player who don't wear headbands and have no issue, ie. Marc Jackson. On the mental aspect, isn't it common in most cases for players who wear a headband and during play, not really notice it's there? So what's the difference when it's not there?

Here's what I think, The NBA is making this seem like a bigger deal than what it really is. Ben Wallace wore a headband against team rules, Skiles didn't like it, Wallace wasn't sorry.Big deal.

The NBA has nothing to do with this 'situation'. Bottom line, Big Baby Ben Wallace needs to shutup and play basketball.

Since when is LeBron an analyst? He needs to mind his own damn business.
