Seager is looking at a $100 million extension in Seattle as well. That's going to be a pretty solid middle of the lineup.
...according to Matt Vasgersian, the addition of Cruz make the Mariners "the prohibitive favorite to win the AL West". ...I just don't see it...Cruz is a good hitter but he won't be hitting in Camden Yards 81 games a year anymore.
I agree. I think the park in Seattle is going to affect him the same way it affected Cano. I expect to see his numbers go down.
...evidently Vasgersian's reasoning was because, "Wow Seattle sure has spent a lot of money in the last year"...he cited the Cano and Seager contracts...well, I hate to break it to ya Matt, but Seattle already had those 2 players...does the addition of Cruz help them?...yes, but does it make Seattle "the prohibitive favorite"?...again, I just don't see it.
...Cruz has had injury problems, can't play defense, can't run the bases, and will be 35 years old in 2015. ...the last 4 years of Cano's contract and the last 2 years of Cruz's contract could be very regrettable.
No doubt Anaheim will be smoking this year, I do believe, if their 2 SP's can return to form, or replace both, with say Lester, or Smardzja. If the Halos can rebound with Tyler Skaggs coming off of elbow surgery, Garrett Richards coming off a horrid knee injury, and had a 13-4 record in August when he screwed his knee up big time. To nasty to watch the highlights of Richards injury. As you said, Mr. Trout and Mr. Pujols will carry the Team rather easily, but they still need pitching... Mr Trout and Pujols, expect to see this in 015: Real Tornadoes return to Anaheim.....click on Pic Thumbnail to enlarge photo:
