...4 years/$40 is pretty much what I figured for both Miller and DRob.

I think the Yankees will sign Miller today. My only question is do they let Robertson walk?

...like I've been saying, I'd like to have them both...but if they sign Miller maybe the will make DRob rethink his "Papelbon money" wishes.

    ...who knows though?

An $8M raise for a set up guy? WTF? this shit is really getting WAY out of control. From $1.9M to $10M.

30-38 with a career ERA near 5 But what the hell he's been good for the last year & a half. Laughable.

...people have been saying years that players are over paid...always been that way, always will be. Besides, it's not my money so why should I care?

...it comes down to what the "market" will bear...and until teams start going bankrupt I won't be concerned...some of the newer TV deals dwarf the one the Yanx made only a few years ago. So there's plenty of money out there for teams to spend and if I'm a player and the owners are dumb enough to pay me a boatload of money I certainly won't turn it down.

...and career ERA doesn't really apply to Miller...he's been a completely different animal since becoming a reliever.

...but on the other side of the coin there was a time in my youth that I would have played CF for the Yanx for free.

...if Miller continues to be as dominant as he has been, hell yeah.

...I'm not a fan of pigeon holing a pitcher as a closer...putting out out a fire in the 7th or 8th innings can be just as critical as getting the last 3 outs.

...If the Yanx can somehow have Miller/DRob/Betances waiting in the pen it becomes a 6 inning game...kinda like the way things were in the dynasty years of the 90's. Having 3 quality arms like that would give Joe a lot of flexibility.

Since converted to a reliever 2012 he's been great.
    133 IP, 2.57 ERA, 1.05 WHIP his K/BB ratio is almost 4-1
He's been better the past two years.
    93 IP, 2.23 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, his K/BB ratio is almost 4.5-1

He's also younger than Drob and they say he'll cost less per yr.
I wouldn't mind having both - with Refsnyder and/or Pirela being good contributors, a steady SS, and I'll take my chances.

And if... they can also add Max, maybe they'll raise Mike Lupica's blood pressure.

There needs to be a new labor law, any job paying out 5 million a year, should never have to work this hard of labor.

It is odd, how most minimum wage burger flippers, work harder for longer, and make even less money. I can't figure this one out......
